I'm working on a roleplay idea that I think I want to make original character based. I'm just not sure if it'll work out. I'm terrified of the idea of no one joining it or taking interest.

Mortualiaium

History

Normal.

Normal was the busy streets of Tokyo, the loud hustle and bustle of city life echoing in the distance. Normal was the people’s faces, smiling, joyful, sad - normal was the emotion that filled and enriched life. Normal was work, busy, loud, destructive, stressful, but that was what it was to live amongst modern society.

Normal was the rumours whispered amongst the people.

They say that the island city of Gunkanjima was full of life, full of energy and prospect until it was abandoned without notice. Thousands of people picked up and left their belongings, their toys, their lives, all because the Japanese government said to do so. Rumours of what happened float about, hiding in shops, in memories, and in the books of those who wrote about it secretly but no one knows for sure what actually happened.

Several news reporters and freelance journalists from around the world have tried to sneak in and discover the truth to the abandoned labs, the homes left in perfect shape and the decaying city but none ever made it out with their ‘proof’ of what happened.

It wasn't until recent years that people have been managing to sneak onto the property, however people aren't quite making it back out in one piece. Several investigation teams have gone in...but never returned out. And if they have they're either missing limbs or other organs or mentally unfit for society.

Who knows who will be the next to set foot upon the island? Human's always have had a normal sense of curiosity.

The Story

Gunkanjima is a destered island whose story will never be uncovered, that is unless you figure out what it is. People from all over the world have flocked to this island, all healthy, all normal however mentally and physically they deteriorate. There is something on the island that the Japanese governement doesn't want to be discovered, and they stop all who enter...however a man by the name of Odin Lewis has been offering a route in. Many of the characters will start out in London, England but several will be meeting in Moscow, Russia, Baleshwar, India and Beijing, China meeting up with Mr. Lewis' comrades.

All posts will be screened from the Japanese governement automatically - this journaling system seems to be rather high-tech and beyond it's time. The gadget itself, if broken, can only be fixed by Mr. Lewis' friend Mr. Cecil but he reminds you that his mission is dire and you will need to take care of your equipment.

You will be notified through mail about any and all information. Characters will be given a destination point to start off in depending on where they are coming from.

There's still more information to work out...but so far I think I like it.
