The truth....

The hardest part of the military they don't show on T.V. It is not the fighting. It is not the war. It doesn't always happen when you deploy or go TDY (Temp duty). It happens everyday of our lives. By "our" lives I mean the men and women of the service. We fight everyday. Sometimes more than once. We fight loneliness, heartache, the feeling of ( Read more... )

Hey there deac311 November 8 2004, 12:47:26 UTC
Hang in there, I understand what you are going through since I've been there before. I hope things will get better soon, and all of us civilians appreciate what you are doing. I know that the world that the rest of us live in wouldn't be possible without people like you out there protecting our sorry arses. Things will get better soon, trust me :)

I kinda know how it feels, but not the overseas part. Actually I joined to go overseas, but after putting zero CONUS and all overseas I ironically get stuck stateside. My job involves long hours and dealing with whatever mother nature throws at me. My only base choices were Barksdale in LA and Minot way up in ND. I always say "Hey, atleast I'm not in Minot." I'm glad it's LA and not ND because I'm from FL also. I'm from Cocoa, FL. My job? I'm a crew chief (2A531F) for the B-52H. Lemme tell you these flying dinosaurs can be a pain in the arse. It's pretty active here at Barksdale also with all the exercises and stuff. Just thought I'd say hang in there =) and welcome home to the USA. I still kinda wanna see other places though. How was it in the UK?

The UK is well... interseting. It is far from Florida and a totally different world. Not complaining too much... I think it will be something to brag about later and complain about now though :0)

I stumbled upon your journal after searching under Air Force as an interest...I also graduated from Lackland in April 2003...April 28th. Which squadron are you from? It would be crazy if you were one of the girls in my flight!
I also went to Keesler for tech school (personnel) but I was split option so I didn't go to tech school until a few months after graduating basic.
Write back...I'm interested to know if I know you!
