Why do people like Rasknolnikov over Hamlet? At least, that's the general impression I've been getting. Hamlet seems so much cleverer than Raskolnikov, at least in terms of verbal quips. Broody characters need to be sarcastically entertaining, else they become emo replicas of today's stereotypical depressed teenagers. But maybe it's because
