First, your song choice: epic!! I adore Florence and the Machine. There isn't a song on the album Lungs that I don't love.

And this: Free will's a tricky thing. This wasn't exactly intended to be making a romantic argument except in a general cosmic way, (see what I did there) but as it usually goes on Supernatural the unintentional homoerotic subtext prevails!

How right you are! One thing about Supernatural that I love is that I usually end up feeling bad for everyone. The characters are flawed, way flawed, and you learn to deal with their shortcomings.

Cas certainly deserves better than he got, but like you said, our boy is a BAMF.

Thank you! And I totally, absolutely agree with you on Florence and the Machine: listening to that entire album is just wonderful.

The characters are definitely flawed, but in a lot of ways those flaws end up being what I love the most about them. Cas' love for humanity made him make the right call, and I'm so glad he was on "our" team. :D

Holy shit, woman. I need to send you music all the fucking time (to a greater degree than usual). I'm tingly about this vid. It did things to my heart rate, where I had not previously been aware of possessing a heart.

I think I've seen all of one video by you before, because YOU NEED TO DO MORE, and while I find that video thrilling I didn't realize what a ride I was in for here until that first drum sting and the jump cut thing you did with the long shot of Castiel's murdered sister. Jump cuts are my fanvid silver bullet. Or they were, until you taught me of the pleasures of fastmo. That shot at 2:18 with the fastmo AND THEN the jump cuts is one of my favorite things that's ever happened in a fanvid

When left to my own devices I tend to lean towards "making McCarthy's The Road look cheerful," or some kind of Grey's Anatomy-esque chirp-weeping, which tend to be too emo/indulgent to make any sort of proper vid out of (unless your name is secretlytodream, but she has secret powers

I HAVE WANTED THIS VID TO EXIST FOR A WHOLE YEAAAAAR.

I've run into at least half a dozen fanvids for it, and had only barely managed to forget the Twilight connection, and anyway I just got used to wincing, snorting, closing the window. BECAUSE THIS SONG IS RIDICULOUS. It is only not ridiculous within the tremulous fantasy space of BEING-A-SONG-NESS. Anything that it is vidded with enhances awkwardness by 115% within the first 5 seconds.

ANYTHING BUT DEAN/CASTIEL, THAT IS. Dean/Castiel alone is SIMULTANEOUSLY EPIC AND GOOFY ENOUGH to hold its own against this song!

I KNOW RIGHT? What's even more ridiculous is that while this song and the movies are connected by the twilight word, if you listen to it (and uh... have read the Twilight books. It was for research! I plead the fifth!) they don't really have anything to do with each other! Edward and Bela are always Talking About Shit and Not Being Confused About It - she knows she wants to hump him, he knows he wants to eat her. Not a difficult relationship to navigate!

Ahem.

But yes, though this song is a total ear orgasm and a gorgeous piece of music, mapping new, recontextualized meaning onto it requires a three part ticket to bizarro-world. So it ate my heart and then it ate my brain and Dean/Castiel came out. This seems to happen with most things though. GOSH this pairing is so amazing.

Um, after all that anticipation I hope you enjoyed it some! I was sure, absolutely sure that someone would've beat me to making this video though...

Do you know the first time i ever heard this song, I thought of Dean and Cas. And i kept wondering why the hell no one was making vids to it, its so perfect. You are so right, everyone has been dissing Cas but being the BAMF that he is, he just keeps coming back, no keeping him down.
