(I just made the connection that this is the grad programme you've been talking about? headdesk. In which case, congratulations for reaching a decision!)

Thank you!

Yes, this is the grad program. If I can get my visa situation (mad confusing), I will be leaving mid-September.

Dropping in on your LJ after a long time! Fantastic that you are moving!

belantana and I might have accidentally written an epic

UM, HELL YEAH. Send it to my gmail account, though: khvelvetfascism@gmail.com

Also, glad you approve. I'm like some giant pendulum, swinging back and forth between thinking it is the greatest thing ever, and thinking that I'm making the most stupid decision ever. Plus, the paperwork is killing me. Do you know what it takes to (legally) come to the UK? It takes a Kilimanjaro of paperwork, and an oath, SIGNED IN YOUR OWN BLOOD, that you will name your firstborn after Her Maj.

Oh yes whereas the US borders are known for being free and easy!!

I think you'll have a great time, it'll be fun and different, Ireland is just beautiful and when I've been I've always been struck by the friendliness. Much better choice than London for a first move to the UK because London is too big and Londoners are rude! I am going to be really interested (/amused) to read your posts about UK life...

The grand epic is a google document and I will send you an invitation to read it! We can no longer tell if it makes any sense or not.

Yes, it will be fun and different. Much of my anxiety stems from leaving a job in a recession, taking on my student loans, etc, to get a MA that doesn't have a clear job at the end of it. Also, my acceptance letter literally got lost in the mail, so I didn't know I was accepted until the middle of June. Everything is happening very, very fast, or very slow - like my visa, which I still don't have.

Add to the fact that I am a disaster at paperwork and prone to anxiety anyways, and woah! I have been a hot mess for a month now.

This actually won't be my first time living in the UK; I spent an all-too-brief semester in Northern Ireland during undergrad. I have a minor love affair with the place...
