Northern Charmer

I keep holding out for Photobucket to be fixed so I could do a proper photo post, but that seems improbable of ever happening.

Things are grand here in Belfast. I love this city. I live in an old Victorian on a street of charming old Victorians. My classes are mostly interesting and intense - I've already had to give a presentation, and have a ( Read more... )

Hi, lovely to hear from you & your adventures! Am supremely jealous of your mountains. Horizons have such an impact on how a city feels, don't they? I've never got used to things on the horizon.

Also, hurrah for horsey connections, and writing connections, and singing connections, and fencing connections! And for meeting Nick Clegg. You are quite the multitalented grad student.

Keep having fun & I hope you have got over being sick. :)

Thanks!

It turns out I've got bronchitis, and it's not keen on leaving anytime soon. Quite fond of my lungs, it is. The bronchitis led me to my first experience with the NHS, and my prescription was free, so that was all good.

The mountains really are amazing. When you live in a city it can be quite easy to forget that there is land beyond it; Belfast doesn't let you forget.

Another great thing about this place: in half an hour you can be in the mountains or at the seaside.

Terribly excited about the fencing and riding!

Yuck. Bronchitis is a tenacious bugger, it is true. Best of luck kicking it down.

Mountains and ocean! Is it good swimming? I now fully expect you to ride a horse along the beach with a sword, ok? I'll charitably wait til you're better first.

I'll get to work finding someone who will let me (insanely clumsy) ride their horse with a sword. ;-)

Swimming is probably out of the question - it was -6 last night! The surfing is supposed to be quite good though!

I'm on the mend and will hopefully be having fun down in Dublin OR hiking in the Mournes this weekend. Yay! I live in Ireland!
