2011 in Review: Books and Music

I'm a bit late to the game, but here are my wholly unsolicited thoughts on my favorite reads and music of 2011.

The North Korea book does sound interesting. I'll have to see if my library has it next time I'm down there. And augh, yet another person telling me how great A Song Of Fire & Ice is... I don't know why I'm so reluctant to pick up this book, but maybe I should just do it already. Cheers for the recs!

Yes, do definitely try to get Nothing to Envy from your library. Or buy it if it's not available there. It's out in paperback and well worth the money.

A Song of Fire and Ice has been one of the best additions to my literary life in the past year. They're not perfect, but I love all the power struggles, fighting, family drama and moaning about honor, conquest, subterfuge and treachery.
