Player Name: Raina
Player LJ: aphonetic
Email and/or AIM: raina.kitty@gmail.com/fated sound
Timezone: CST
Other Characters: None

Character: Axel
Series/Fandom: Kingdom Hearts
Deviance: Deviance 1

Age: Appears to be in his 20s, but is only a few years old.
Gender: Male
Species: Human

Appearance: Axel stands out compared to the other members of the Organization, despite the standardized uniform. His hair is a darker red, not resembling the carrot-top that most associate with hair color, but an actual deep red, almost like blood. His hair is stylized to flair in spikes towards the back. It's easier, and doesn't require defying gravity to accomplish.

Axel is also, easily, one of the tallest members of the Organization. Those who are as tall as him have quite a bit of bulk as well though, and Axel merely looks lanky in their presence. His arms and shoulders, however, have quite a bit of definition, a necessity when considering his weapons and fighting style.

The black cloak of the Organization is fitted tightly to him, though not so tightly as to hinder movement. The sleeves, instead of having a flair like most of the others, are tight, so as to allow less wind resistance as he waves his chakrams about in battle. This also accentuates how tiny his waist is in proportion to the rest of him.

Psychology: Axel's selfish. He cares, if it's possible to care, primarily about himself, his friend, Roxas, falling into a primarily second place role. He is capable of acts that seem selfless, but there's always a gain for himself, in some way or another, before he'll actually commit to them.

Axel is a master of words, of convoluting their meaning to suit his needs, without ever seeming like he does. He doesn't talk like Xemnas, using big, complicated words, as though they'd get his meaning across better. He prefers to speak candidly, with a scathing sarcastic flair.

In fact, Axel's scathing remarks make up for a lack of an explosive temper (or a temper so bad that he loses control of his actions). Axel is a planner, who very rarely lets others know what he truly thinks, and instead prefers to lead them on in their assumptions. Personal experience has taught him that it's better to let someone think they're friends with you than to actually be friends.

However, despite that philosophy, Axel does have a soft spot for Roxas, though it's more of a love-hate relationship. Axel has trouble coping with his attachment, and with how needy he's become because of Roxas's ability to make him almost feel again, though he tries to cope with it by sometimes being unnecessarily harsh, whether to Roxas or to those around him.

General Skills/Abilities: Axel may not have the endurance for fighting that many of the other Organization members have, but his fighting is explosive, in more than one way. He has speed and power on his side, where endurance may have failed him, he can easily overpower his opponents before that really becomes a problem.

Axel is something of a fire elemental, his attacks often are infused with the element. He can produce fire at will, and is able to create a firewall (double meaning, hm?) and can even manipulate the surroundings for his element. For example, he can temporarily turn the floor into lava.

Also, Axel is skilled with the computer. He was able to hack into the digital Twilight Town, so I imagine he can make the computer dance beneath his fingers if he so wanted to.

General Weaknesses: Axel doesn't really ally himself with anyone, and this can be a weakness, considering how necessary teamwork can be at times. Especially given that Axel wears out quickly in battle and will most likely not have any sort of backup.

Axel's selfishness also tends to get him in trouble, especially when he can't decide what he wants more. This slows his actions down considerably, unless he's acting on impulse. He can tend to not think through the consequences of his actions.

Another weakness is Roxas, and by extension, Sora. He does what he can to keep them safe because of how they make him feel.

History: Axel is really very quiet about his Other, not really wishing to even divulge his original name, much less his home world. All that's really known is that Axel's world fell to darkness and Axel lost his heart, and as a Nobody was able to maintain his human form. Thus, he became eligible for membership as number VIII in Organization not-quite XIII.

Shortly after the thirteen members were gathered, Axel was sent on a mission with several others to Castle Oblivion, to capture the Keybearer… Or perhaps to weed out potential traitors. It was during this mission Axel proved how heartless he was, killing Vexen without a second thought to glue himself closer to Marluxia and Larxene.

Only to release Namine and ruin their entire plot. After this, Axel went on more missions, and got closer to number XIII, Roxas. Eventually considering him to be his best friend. When Roxas left, Axel was more eager than most to volunteer his services in retrieving the boy and infiltrated the digital Twilight Town.

However, Axel failed and Roxas ended up merging with Sora. From there, Axel attempted to kidnap Kairi, and succeeded, only to have Kairi stolen from him by Saix. Around that point, Axel had decided to turn against the Organization, and aided Sora in getting to the World that Never Was.

However, his aid cost him his life. He died with Sora beside him, after confessing to the boy the feelings that Roxas brought to him… And that Sora did as well.

Reality Description: The World that Never Was. A difficult place to describe, much less to even imagine. It exists between the state of non-existence and existence. It is a collection of the worlds that were never allowed to be, and it is its own entity entirely.

An empty city, fully formed, but shrouded in complete darkness, except for the occassional flickering neon lights. Heartless prowl there, and consider the territory theirs. Nobodies don't tread there if they can help it, though Axel and Roxas dare, resting on the rooftops if they do.

A castle beyond the world that never was, shockingly white in comparison with the dark city, glowing with an omnipresent singularity in it's odd shapes and disfunctional design. It feels as if no one else can exist there.

First Person Sample: It's really all I can do to not... set Xaldin's hair on fire, whenever the Superior is speaking. It's such a hard temptation to resist. Oh, Xaldin would be mad, and naturally he'd blame me. But it's better than listening to the Superior.

That guy loves the sound of his own voice so much, I swear. It's hard to stand it, the most depressing afterlife. It's like he feels the need to remind us that we don't have emotions about...

Oh, at least twice a day.

I'm surprised it's not included in the reports yet. "The keyblade bearer destroyed the heartless in this world as well. Shortly after his departure, the world was successfully turned to darkness. Still can't feel emotion."

Might include that one on my next report actually.

It's too bad he thinks he has to talk to everyone. He could save thirty minutes of my pathetic life and just meet with Demyx in private. Really, where's the concern for what I want every now and again?

Third Person Role-play Sample: Axel had initially scoffed at the scuffed and crumpled paper in his hands. Its crude marks and oddly cryptic words. How stupid, and he was already trying to think through who to attribute its creation to. Roxas, who was not nearly childish enough to even glance at the paper? Or the obvious one, Demyx? Really, Demyx was so easy to blame anything on, it wasn't fun anymore.

Axel whistled low and shoved the paper in his pocket, a crude drawing of a crown and 'king' written under it. King, king, king, he scoffed. It always was a matter of overestimating the king, wasn't it? In chess, the king was the weakest piece, easily trounced by the queen, or even the rooks and bishops. Arguably, the knight was stronger than the King could ever hope to be, but chess was not a game that Axel identified easily with.

In cards, the King didn't stand a chance unless paired with the right card. A joker could easily destroy a king-- the joker. Unassuming, the fool. The one card with ambiguous purpose. Axel smiled cruelly, before whistling another tune, light and energetic. The joker, the fool. The one that could tilt the card of fate... Something like that.

Axel, clearly, knew next to nothing about cards, but cards never were meant to be his forte, or else he'd use them as a weapon, he thought with a scoff. Cards versus the fiery energy of his chakrams? Could anything else possibly be more boring?

Still. He liked the joker. He always thought it was a better card than a king, and his experiences with kings were rather limited in number. Watching Larxene and Marluxia chat and pretend to be scretive... he wanted to laugh, but he walked on, continuing to whistle until one of them finally had the startling realization that they were no longer alone. Larxene smiled, that typical sour and twisted smile that was enough to scare children and some small animals. Marluxia fled.

His experiences with kings were few. And in the end, he knew that truly, it wouldn't matter, would it? The king held the power, the key. Oh, one day, this joker would get his chance, Axel knew, and that day, he'd have the last laugh, and the literal "Off with their heads!" One day, soon, hopefully, as Larxene fell in line beside him, her hands invading personal space that he no longer had the ability or will to care about.

Humoring was so hard, really.

And as they walked, the little girl in white watched, cowering behind the closest corner, watching the red flame envelope her drawing.

Did you read the rules? Yes~
