Regardless, it is quiet there, above and below ground. Most have taken to carrying on.
There is little that can be done, though most have not tried very hard. You cannot really blame them.

Why in the world would you do that? I am aware that they say that old habits die hard but that is absolutely no excuse at all to murder and consume another human being to satiate a hunger that I am sure could have been satiated other ways.

In regards to what to call the place we have come from, a place where our pantheistic divinity reigns, I admit I have still come up with nothing better than "home". That word, however, is subjective at best.

Concerning what those who remain at "home" could do to attempt to rectify the situation, I find that it matters little now. Contact is not feasible and therefore suggestions would be useless.
