Is it Monday again soon?

Sanity has now been temporarily restored (until Monday, 9pm). The worst part of CoV so far has been the long, agonising wait of a week until the next episode!

So, was it worth the wait? Admittedly, plot-wise, there wasn't much but a lot of space in a first episode must inevitably be used for exposition. I thought Henry and John had a great chemistry together; each perfectly compliments the other. It will be interesting to watch this develop over the series.

So far Henry and Mary's married life consists of seeing who can embarass the other more in front of their guests. I hope they're not going to be at each other's throats for the whole series (although kudos to the actress playing Mary; most people would be afraid to talk that way to Emperor Palpatine). Maybe they were just having an 'off-day' - I've never read anything that suggests they were seriously unhappy together, despite the pressures on their relationship. Ep 1 seems to be depicting the consequences of Henry's 'weakness' as unfortunate on both sides. Can't Ian have a bit of fictional marital happiness, just once? Mark it down under 'Mary Sue.'

CoV met all my expections (a tall order indeed) and still managed to be full of surprises; who'd have thought that John Fielding, magistrate, would turn out to be an expert pick-pocket? Look out for next week's episode, when he hotwires a car and robs a tavern at gunpoint. Not really.

Scary moment the other night; we hit a deer while driving home from work. Or rather, it hit us, as it dashed across the dual carriageway. We braked hard and it scrambled up and away into the woods. We called the park warden but they've not been back in touch yet to let us know if it's been found. Poor thing. A little tuft of its fur was wedged in our broken headlight.
