My terrifying stacks adventure

Sep 24, 2009 22:48

So I'm in this crazy (but hopefully wonderful!) Milton senior seminar, where the assignment for the first day of class was to choose a research topic for the ENTIRE TERM, and the assignment for day two (next Tuesday) was to do a preliminary bibliography. And partly because I'm silly and partly because I'm taking four classes, panicked, wanted to ( Read more... )

small comforts! (I also got a good secondary text out of it, which is important for passing one of my classes. The things I do for academics!)

no! I'm glad it made you giggle. =)

although clearly you don't understand my pain. stacks are scary, scary places. they have low ceilings and lots of books whispering to each other, and one day someone is going to do a law and order (or perhaps csi) episode about a stacks serial killer, and then you will understand.

I understand! I avoid them as much as humanly possible (which is a lot; I never really need to go to the library, thankfully. Our university library is depressingly academic... like most, probably.)

Also, I'm sorry to inform you that I think it's already been done. Either on CSI or CSI:NY or NCIS or something of that variety. I think. It'd take too long to verify that thought, though =P

PS: I just remembered something!! When we both get our lives back from the monster that is academia / "the future," we should actually write our collaborative story. I know, I know, I've been the limiting factor on that for...ever, seeing as how you already wrote a chapter. But, just throwing that out there, in case you're still interested. =) (It's ok to say no; I won't bite your head off, I promise =D)

For the most part I enjoy the library, but the stacks are creepy - low ceilings, metal bookshelves, etc.

Ahaha, you seem to be the expert on CSI and the rest of the crime shows, so I will trust you on that.

and, of course, we should do that story! whenever you have time. we should maybe start over though, considering. that was like, four years ago. better to start with a fresh slate. =)
