books and books and books, oh my

It feels so much later than 11:30. And I'm just starting my laundry.

I don't have any exciting stories to share, because my life is no longer eventful. I anticipate no more excitement until December, which will be a very exciting month indeed, because I will get to see my whole entire family for the first time since...last December. And also, I ( Read more... )

Linden! I miss you! --Sorry, had to share. I log on to LJ so sporadically (and check my friends page even more sporadically), that it's always incredibly refreshing to see updates from you. Especially because they often make me at least crack a smile, if not laugh outright =)

Yay for seeing family!!

I recognize... nothing from your book list except one author's name. Though the book you talked about does sound cool. I shall wait for recommendations from you ;) I should also tell you that I gave in and checked out The Lost Symbol (Dan Brown's latest) last weekend, though I've yet to crack it open. I can't wait to read it alongside that commentary you linked to awhile back, which is the real reason I checked it out in the first place, lol. Crazy, I know =D ( ... )

No, don't apologize for missing me and telling me so! I miss you too! (especially because we didn't get to see each other over the summer...unless we did and my memory is failing me, which is very possible right now)

Huh, which author's name? Libba Bray? Terry Pratchett? It's sort of understandable that you wouldn't recognize a lot of them, because most of them are new, or from genres that you probably haven't had any exposure to (steampunk, hardcore urban fantasy, speculative fiction, etc). I'm branching out from my YA (although clearly I'm still reading a lot of that too...or perhaps not clearly, if you don't know the authors here).

Haha, let me know how you like Lost Symbol! And, how the commentary holds up against it. (I know, some of the chapters where she says only a few words leave me curious as to what is going on in them...)

Shadow unit...is this. It's absolutely wonderful (...actually, you in particular might like it a lot.) if you have time, you should read it, but make sure to start from the beginning ( ... )

Ok, I retract my apology =P And you are indeed NOT mistaken; I didn't get to see you this summer because I was either @ home or out of the country.

Terry Pratchett = the only one I recognize. So, yea, not too clear ;) But I confess, I haven't been reading much at all lately. Except the Ender's Shadow quartet definitely ate up my entire last week, since my roommate gave me the pdf's... haha.

Oh, and because of those pdf's, I ended up having to return Lost Symbol without ever having read it. I'll have to just check it out again at some point (you can tell how much I regret not having read it, lol).

I checked out the site! Though I haven't started reading it just yet, because I just know I'll be completely caught up in it, and I saw how well that went last week... but soon!

ahaha, I suspect we are both ljing right now.

I hope you are not feeling bad about not reading. I'm not reading all that much either! Although I did some reading this summer, hence all the new authors.

yes yes, read shadowunit when you get a chance and then come talk to me about it, because it is wonderful and I love to talk about it!
