I have to say, I am liking going to the gym. I like the routine; get up, have a little breakfast, (usually a piece of toast topped with an egg and sauteed spinach and mushrooms, but today it was some specially prepared tuna salad in a Flatout wrap), go to the gym, exercise for half an hour, shower, get changed, and come to work.

I've been trying to lose a bit of weight myself, for other reasons - and found that some of the biggest things that helped me are things you've already found out about, like using smaller plates and bowls instead of the big dinner sized ones, eating less food more often, and making sure you're eating the right food instead of just good food (you know, stuff that's high in fiber so you feel full after not eating a ton).
For me the hard part has always been getting the right amount of exercise, and since you're having so much success with the Wii, I'm starting to think that it'd be a brilliant investment. :D
Anyway, don't listen to that voice - it'll always be there, but once you learn to smack it down you'll be easily able to smack down other dissenting voices that tell you bad things too, imho.

Avoid drinking calories--stick to seltzer, tea, and other calorie-free drinks.
Write down what you plan to eat the night before, then stick to it. That way, you know that you will be prepared and you won't be stuck without healthy food around. Also, you decide what you're going to eat when you're not hungry, so you make better choices.
