I tried to make an update earlier today, but I failed. Here we go again...
Saturday: Went to see Chicago with Adam, Kyle, Kirsten, Amber and Kendall. Very good production. Brooke was better than I thought she would be. I greatly enjoyed myself. Also booked my trip to Paris this afternoon. An overview of the trip will be elaborated on later in this entry.
Sunday: Went to Stonehenge with Lord Estees, Kyle, Dave, Kirsten, Sarah, Amber and Kendall. I'm glad I went. It is a lot smaller than you would imagine, but just a cool feeling being there. Afterwards, I got back to the flat and had about a half hour to rest and get ready. Headed to Camden Town to see Chris Murray play at The Underworld. Went by myself and got a fatherly talk from Pete when I got home. "I don't like you going to shows like that by yourself!" Kinda amusing. I am glad that I went alone though. I met some locals. Saw a kid in a SL t-shirt and struck up a convo with him. Met this guy Lewis who is the drummer of the first band that went on. All bands were great by the way. Got hit on by this French kid. Took us ten minutes to have a 2 minute conversation. Kinda frustrating. Had a nice convo with Chris as well. I don't think I've ever actually sat and talked to the guy one on one before. Overall, very good experience. Came home to everyone in my flat because they were shooting for Knightcap in Wendy's room. Drama there, of course. Had a heart to heart with Wendy and Laura after. Again. Drama. But some things were worked out...kinda. Overall. Good night.
Monday: Took a day trip to York. Saw the York Minster Cathedral. Got hit on by some kid from Wisconsin...in a cathedral! I was like, "Dude, you need to stop." Bought some great fudge and ice cream. Had a lovely lunch with Martha. Heard a ghost story or two from Lee. Walked the wall. Nice and relaxing day. Got back and my class was kinda yelled at by Pete. We planned out the show and everything left to shoot.
Tuesday: Went out with Sherry and Vinny to shoot some stuff. Headed to Camden Town and Ifor Evans to edit our MOS. Finished that, marking my completion of obligations for the show. Went home to rest. Wanted to go out to a pub, but instead just ended up going to shoot a promo for the show and then heading to bed. I wasn't feeling to well as the night progressed.
Wednesday: Woke up feeling like absolute crap. Couldn't swallow. Couldn't stand. Had a fever. Skipped class and slept all day. Wendy made me soup and pasta from scratch! Made me feel a lot better. Watched some of Pirates. Martha came home and gave me some amoxicillian. Went to bed somewhat early, feeling a little better.
Thursday: Woke up and took a shower. Felt a lot better than I had the night before. Went to shoot the final stuff for the show. Today marked the last official day of class, so it was pretty hectic. Packed for Paris. Stayed up til after 4 talking to Wendy about everything in the world.
Friday: Got up at dawn to leave for Paris with Amber, Kendall and Dave. Had to be at the train station at 7:30 AM! One hour of sleep pretty much. Fun times! Got to Paris mid-afternoon. Went on a bus tour of the city. Checked into the hotel and grabbed some food nearby. Then we headed to The Louvre as it is free for those under 25 on Fridays. Fulfilled a dream of mine going there. I almost cried. The place is absolutely gorgeous! If there were no great works of art within, it would still be absolutely stunning. Saw the Mona Lisa. She really does follow you with her eyes. Also saw the scuplture of Venus. So amazing. Afterwards, as it was still light out, we walked outside and along the park. It was simply gorgeous. Ate at KFC for dinner. Best KFC of my life. Let's just say that. I had to include it in here because it was just that good. HaHa Passed out around midnight...
Saturay: Got up early to head to Notre Dame. Sat in on Mass in French. Realized another dream by climbing to the top and seeing the bells. Such an amazing place and view. Afterwards, we ate at this little cafe next to the cathedral. Such a good meal. Then we decided to just walk. We walked for miles and miles. Got to the old Opera House. Very beautiful. Got there too late to go walk around inside, but what I was able to see on the inside wasn't that amazing. Kept walking and walking. Ended up in the giant square. Don't know the name of it. Sat in the park and rested for a while before heading back to the hotel. Went to the market to get baguettes and cheese and wine. Then we went on a night boat tour. Let me just say that the Eiffel Tower at night is the most beautiful site. Words cannot describe it and pictures do it no justice. Went to the local pub for a bit after that and then headed to bed. Another fantastic day and night. =)
Sunday: Woke up early again for my last day in Paris. Headed to the Eiffel Tower and yes, we went to the top. Such an amazing view. I was speachless. I realized a third lifelong dream by going to the top. We ate lunch on the first level before heading off to the Arch de Triumph. After we went there, we walked around for a while before heading back to the hotel to catch the coach to the train station. Got in pretty late, but oddly had a lot of energy. Went to the Internet Cafe with Martha for a bit and then headed to bed.
Monday: Slept til noonish and then met up with Martha and Adam Fron (who was a half hour late!) to go to the Imperial War Museum. It was free and I quite enjoyed it. They have a nice Holocaust exhibit. Adam tried to scare us by popping out from behind a wall at the tube station and instead, scared the crap out of some poor girl. It was hilarious. Anywho. Moving on. Went home to nap afterwards (though I didn't) and then went out with Wendy and Tanesha to the pub down the street for some dinner and a drink. Nice and stress-free day. Laura is still gone so it's nice and quiet around the flat...
TODAY: Got up early to go down to Leicester Square with Martha and Sherry to try and get Guys and Dolls tickets for this evening. We were unsucceful, but did manage to score second row tickets for Some Girls with David Schwimmer. The play was amazing. We could see his spit fly out of his mouth we were so close. After the show, we went to try and get pictures/autographs. Sherry yelled, "You're my favorite giraffe" and he smiled and gave her a thumbs up. He came over to our side and signed this girl's program and started to walk away. I asked, "Will you please sign mine?" and looks up and over at me and with a little grin says, "Oh, okay". It was the highlight of my night. He's adorable. Anywho. Now I am in the internet cafe, typing this book for you fine people. Just giving you all a glance at my life over here in London. Hope you've enjoyed.
Tomorrow it looks like Martha, Sherry and I will be going to Windsor to visit the castle and get some fudge. On the way, we plan to stop by Leicester Square and try our luck at getting tickets for Guys and Dolls as we have decided we will pay £67 to get up close and personal with Ewan McGregor. Should prove to be a fun day and night...
I miss you all and look foward to seeing you soon as I return on Saturday. I don't want to leave, but all good things must end eventually. =)
