I hate to rain on any kind of parade you might be having H. But that icon is pretty damned offensive to quite a lot of people.
Meanwhile how did your essay come out? I thought of a good topic like a day to late. I would've told you to talk about the Baby Boom coming in to teenage. Because of the excess in the American people's money and time after the economic turn around from WWII, teenagers suddenly had leisure time (instead of working on the farm to survive, or going to war like their parents) and allowances/after school jobs which payed them money they could keep, instead of having to contribute to family survival. Because of these things a "youth culture" appeared on the scene, and an accompanying "youth market" brought about the record industry as we now know it. I.e. kids buy most of the music...actually the most recent statistics now show that adults 24-35 (or something) are now the age bracket buying the most music, even so enough 11-14 year old girls buy music to keep the bubble gum pop happening. Sorry to be so late.
