I totally spaced and forgot Laura was Jewish in this 'verse! (there's an offhand comment about Jewish mothers in a previous fic, right? My bran has totally abandoned me if there are others)

Oh yes, Laura is Jewish in this verse-- good memory. :) There have been a couple allusions to it over the various fics, mostly in the context of Laura's mom disapproving of Gentile Bill.
