Well its a new year yet not much has changed. The weather is still cold an yucky, work is busy and life is plodding along at a steady rate

I've found a bunch of new-to-me stuff music-wise. If you're a fan of Squirrel Nut Zippers, I've done a lot of stumbling in the same hard to classify genre. Not sure if it'll be your cup of tea, but these are my new favorites

OOo thanks for the list! Started to work my way through, bottom first. On Flunk - I like that one a lot.
I tend to lean toward the rock/metal genre but do enjoy some folky types and quite a few other things. I usually prefer the male vocalist but any suggestions always welcomed! Some I do enjoy are Seth Lakeman, Rob Thomas, Santana, Breaks Co Op, The Answer to name a few of the more alternative styles.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is folksy southern U.S. rock, so you'll probably like them. The three songs I mentioned above are my favorites. I caught them on The Henry Rollins Show.
You may already be familiar with Afro Celt Sound System. I've been a fan for a long time. Good starter songs would be When You're Falling, featuring vocals by Peter Gabriel. Another from the same album (Further In Time) is Life Begin Again.
I always assume people know The Cult because they've been around so long, but I've been surprised a few times. Worth mentioning, just in case.
I'll come up with more, I'm sure. And thanks for mentioning The Answer. I really like Comfort Zone. I think I've heard that somewhere before.
