The prosecution of street artists is, in and of itself, a crime. From what I've seen out there, most folks who are bold enough to show their work outside the gallery system in this highly accessible way try to be respectful of people's private space and property. street art comes from a really organic, impulsive place. this intrigues me greatly....just getting out there and doing you thang.

It's art without the middleman. I have to say, galleries have their place. Stuff that's more fragile, or on stretchers, etc., etc. is a good fit with the gallery space (although some people are doing cool stuff with putting art on canvas up on the streets). But with street art, you can make your image and have it out there the same day, adding your voice to the visual conversation that is taking place in more and more cities.
