Once lessons were over for the day, Hooch begins to pay some thought to the evening ahead of her, and in particular the detention she has meted out to Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. She visits her office and surveys it with a thoughtful eye. As always, it's a little small and cramped, but if she shuffles that bookcase there along a little bit she can just fit in a writing desk. Yes, that will do nicely.
She summons an elf, and when Dobby comes stipulates her requirements. Leaving him gushing assurances that she will have a desk by seven o'clock, oh yes, Madam Hooch, Dobby guarantees it, she heads off in search of dinner.
When seven o'clock arrives, she's at her desk once more, leaning back in the chair, feet up on the desk as she peruses the back pages of today's Prophet for news of the weekend's upcoming Quidditch matches. The door stands ajar, waiting for her visitors.
