London, Saturday around noontime

Rita is enjoying a cup of tea and a light lunchtime snack while browsing through her mail. There are several job applications to look through at a later time - word of her new magazine seems to have got around.

The owl arrives midway through the afternoon, as Hooch is returning to the castle. She puts out a hand for its burden, takes the letter, and sends the bird on its way to the owlery for a rest and a feed before it makes its return journey.

Walking slowly up the castle steps, she opens the letter and reads it as she walks. What she sees there prompts her to hurry into the staffroom, grab quill and parchment, and scribble a hasty reply before hurrying out to the owlery to catch Rita's bird before it departs for London once more.

Dear Miss Skeeter,

Thank you for your time and your kind interest in my project.

And for the unwarranted honorific of "Professor", though she's not going to complain about that. Perhaps she can talk to Dumbledore about giving her a pay rise and the title for real?

As it happens, the first fundraising event for my little charity will be taking place next weekend - the headmaster prefers that we not interrupt the childrens' schoolwork by staging 'disruptive' events once the term is too far advanced...Though ( ... )
