Wow, that was really cool! And it just got better and better as the vid went on. So many great ideas explored here, and of course the core concept is solid

Thanks so much Brad! :) So glad you really liked it - and wow! my best work? :D I'm glad you caught 2:15 - I just really loved the motion and I wanted 'Truth' to remain on the screen a little longer as River appeared on, tying the two together. For some reason, when I play my vid on my computer, I can't see it. I was bummed because I didn't think it made it in, but when I saw it on another computer, it was there. Must be a contrast setting or something.

I'm glad you liked the other stuff - you know how I am with beats. :D Question? Did it come across that from 'the happy moments' to her getting scared by Book/Operative was a kind of dream sequence/her subconscious? I tried to set it apart by making it glowy and bookending it with River falling asleep then waking up.

It didn't until you mentioned that, but now I can completely see it. I'm usually pretty thick about that kind of thing as a viewer, which is odd since I use so many conceptual things like that in my own vids.

I loved this song when I saw a vid of someone one who vidded it to Serenity/River as well a while back

Thanks, Cassie! Yeah, the second half is my favorite too. I struggled with the first half to get it in accordance to my overall vision/direction for the vid. I can see what you mean about the quote and overlaying of River's image, but I felt it was necessary for a couple of reasons. Firstly, that image and the image near to the end of River 'staring' bookend my vid. It kind of brings it around full circle. Secondly, I wanted to tie in the 'staring' with the quote in regards to 'staring into the abyss/abyss staring into you' because that's what I want the viewer to remember when they got to the end of the vid and saw that shot

Ok, just random but I wanted to mention on the fifth viewing of the vid I really loved the part with the intercutting between the bar fight and the fruity oaty bar comercial and there are a couple beats that go boom, boom boom, and you have the octopus's eyes getting bigger and smaller right on the boom boom, lol, that probably makes no sense, but it reminded me of what you said before about liking to use subtle movements on beat and it worked real well there, lol, it's late i make no sense. Thanks again for a great vid ;p

I finally watched it. Great vid. The ending was a surprise *wink* but amazing editing and timing with the clips. I love how you showed River thinking towards the end there all those crazy things.

Love this vid. Especially the way it builds up towards the end.

1.49 river in the sickbay/oo-ooh ... love that bit.
2.59 love this part. the cut from the torture chair to the fruity oaty bar commercial, the closeup of river's eyes vs. the octopuss's.. and when she starts fighting--or is it dancing... just awesome editing and timing.
3.30 simon says the safe word, she falls to sleep ... the dream sequence is a great addition to this. i love how you included those happy moments... which then turn into a nightmare.
3.53 the look on her face; something's wrong...everything up to 4.05 really builds up the tension.
4.09 that scene with simon breaks my heart. great editing.
4.37 her duality really comes across in this. and how "the girl" is trying to resist becoming "the weapon" and losing herself.
4.47 when she looks away from jayne and the others, there's a sense of finality. she gets sucked into the darkness...
4.55 ...squish.

when this vid is over i just want to give river a hug.
