It is looking less likely I'll be able to make it to Fest Friday, which means again...I'll miss vilification ping pong.
I'm just insanely fucking busy with co-op stuff and haven't been able to really get everything done.
Ok, so as I posted a few months ago...I accepted the role of painting committee chair...this will tie in soon.
I also, after the past all co-op meeting where 8 people showed up, stepped up to help mediate a "Tilsner open forum". woot.
that open forum was tonight. For the most part, it was productive. We were able to come up with some ideas to open communication and get people more involed.
Now on this, our president voiced his opnion that it's incredibly frustrating when people don't participate as it's in their lease. I had to voice my thoughts on the fact that, painting committee usually consists of me and 1-2 other people to finish an entire unit in an evening. it's not feesible!
Then a certain co-op member, who bitches about every goddamn thing says "well, no offense, but we don't see our rent credits til practically 2 years later..and it still hasn't been resolved"
I just stepped into this position, I'm willing to go to bat and get it resolved. HOWEVER, it is in our LEASE that we help with the building. I brought that up, and got from him "well, what's in it for us?" COME ON! FUCKIN' HELP! I'm going to say at the next all co-op, I am willing to go to bat about this rent credit issue if people actually show up to the committees. I was glad when our president cut in with, "it really isn't fair if everyone has that mentality which leaves Trace painting a unit for 12 hrs."
needless to say, after that meeting and a small vent session about the person in question (every idea we came up with, he shot down...whatever..). I headed back to the unit I'm painting. John rocks and did the 2 biggest walls before crashing...I just finished one room (edging needs to be done)...I'm covered in paint...I have blisters on my hands and fingers...
and it's still not done. If anyone, I know your not co-op members, wants to help me paint tomorrow...please do. I'll figure out a way to repay you. It would help me be out at fest Friday...
and would keep my sanity.
