So nice to see you again! Your books sounded interesting--I liked the magic of the first. However, that last one was made into a movie. I saw the trailer and refused to see it because I know a tragi-romance when I see one. I don't know when this category started over-taking romantic comedies but it probably started with that damn 'Message in a Bottle', one movie I tossed aside the instant I saw it and vowed never to watch again. I hate books and movies that exist to tell us 'at least they had that time together'. What bull. I'm here to escape real life for a while, not have it bust up my romance. I'll take a happy ending any day. Thanks for letting me know I was right to avoid 'One Day'. It sounds beautifully written, and I love well-done characters too, but I hate those kinds of endings these days. Too knowingly tear-jearky for me. Guess I'm more of a pussy than you ::grin::
haha! A huge number of the reviews on Goodreads for One Day are of the exact same opinion as you :) I even saw one which compared to it to that Meg Ryan/Nicholas Cage movie - City of Angels - where she ALSO dies in a cycling accident just as they get happily together...
