In-Game Character Information
Name: Miria Phantom (no canonical surname)
Series: Claymore
Age: 17

Personality: Miria can at first come across as very cold, but this is because she is too smart to suffer fools. She tends to keep her distance so she can get a rational assessment of a person and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. This does not mean, however, that she is uncaring. Once Miria places her trust in someone, she will do all in her power to help protect and guide them. She functions as sort of a mother bear to those she has come to care for. It just takes a lot to gain her trust. She is generally wary of people, especially authority figures, to due her past as a Claymore. She used to be much more friendly and open, but the circumstances of her past caused her to shut down and question the motives of everyone around her. One way to gain Miria's respect is to function well on a team. She harbors an intense dislike for those who care only for themselves and are incapable of supporting others who may be relying on them.

Miria is generally quiet, and does not like to speak unless she has something important to say, which adds to the impression of being aloof. She takes care with her words, putting a great deal of thought into the things she says. She may reprimand someone she feels is acting foolishly, but she rarely loses her cool. Under the surface, though, Miria is a very emotional person. She can feel things quite deeply, and often takes responsibility for things beyond her control.

Miria is an extremely intelligent girl. She is a phenomenal tactician, capable of reading situations and thinking several steps ahead in order to plan for any potential problems. Miria is also a very good leader, and her plans take into account the abilities, strengths, and weaknesses of those around her, to maximize the potential of a good outcome. Her quick thinking and concern for those she leads makes it very easy for people to place their trust in her. Her intelligence can also get her into trouble. Because of her past and distrust of authority figures, Miria often investigates anyone in a position of power over her. Thouroughly. She will use any and all means at her disposal to make sure the people in power aren't corrupt, and if they are. Well. Sad for them.

Background:Miria was born to Muggle parents in a Spanish town. She had a normal childhood until she was approximately eight years old, when her family was attacked by yoma. The yoma went after Miria first, and her parents, fearing for their own lives, left their daughter to be killed. The yoma, however, smelled the latent magic in her, and left her to chase after her more delicious Muggle parents. Her parents were killed, and Miria was discovered by the Department of Ministries soon after. Miria's distrust of authority began with her parents abandoning her to the yoma, and only grew during her time in the Department of Mysteries' Claymore project.

During the first few painful months after the yoma implantation, Miria befriended a fellow Claymore, who helped her through the excruciating days and nights of training. This Claymore graduated to active status before Miria did, but they made a vow to become strong and fight side-by-side. After Miria's own graduation to active status, she and her friend were paired on missions occasionally, and their friendship deepened. Through her friend, who was ranked Number Six, Miria found the drive to develop her own special technique. Using her yoma power, she was able to create illusions of herself so the attacking demons would not know where she was. This power ultimately gave her the nickname "Phantom" Miria.

After not having seen her friend for some time, Miria began to worry. Eventually she was given an assignment - an Awakened Being hunt. Miria had hoped the leading warrior on the assignment would be her friend, but instead it was the Number Four - Ophelia, who was in charge of the hunt. Along the way, Ophelia told Miria of a warrior who had been so close to Awakening that she could not feel her friend nearby. This warrior had wished to give her Black Card to her friend, so that she might be killed while still human. Instead, she gave the card to Ophelia, who said she would pass it on but promptly ripped it up. Before Miria could work out why Ophelia had told her this, they came upon the Awakened Being. The group of warriors quickly incapacitated the monster, and Ophelia gave Miria the kill shot. Just as her sword was slicing through the monster's neck, Miria recognized her as her friend - the story Ophelia had told was about her. This event, along with several others, shattered Miria's previously blind faith in the Department of Mysteries. She had begun to investigate them on her own, slowly gaining power, eventually rising to Number Six in honor of her dead friend, when the Claymore project was shut down. Miria' nickname "Phantom" became her last name, and she was sent to Hogwarts to study, as a fourth year student.

At Hogwarts, Miria has excelled in her classes, and managed to make a few friends. She generally ignores the strange looks she receives, figuring that she can't help what she looks like, nor can she control other peoples' reactions to it. She prefers to spend her time flying, reading, and checking up on the professors' backgrounds. Because she doesn't trust them.

Blood: Muggle-born, fused with yoma.

Preferred House: Ravenclaw (A good argument could be made for Gryffindor, but in canon the point that She Is SMART is hammered home like every time she's around. So I'd really prefer Ravenclaw.)
Why you think they belong in this house? She's hell of smart. See last paragraph of Personality section.

School Year: Seventh

Quidditch Position:Chaser, and captain if possible. She'd be the best ever. As a Claymore she was Captain Miria during like, every mission, because she's so good at leading people, and it's mentioned that, when in a team, Miria (#6 in the Claymore ranking system) is stronger than the #1-ranked warrior. These leadership and tactical skills would apply at Hogwarts, though the circumstances of course differ.
Would you like the character to possibly get a higher position? (She'd be a bomb Head Girl or Prefect, if she's allowed that and Quidditch captain.

Journal Sample:
[Private to Galatea]

That Professor Godot's background doesn't quite check out. Would you mind doing a reading on him?

Yes. You have to.

[End private]

Does anyone else find it strange that so many of our new staff members this year were formerly Aurors? It is quite interesting. I wonder what brings them here.

[Private to Self]

Were the Aurors sent here because of us? Is the Ministry attempting to revive the Claymore project? I hope they do not think any of us would go back willingly. Well, perhaps Ophelia would.

If the Ministry does think to take us back, I hope they are well prepared for what I shall do to them should they try. Mischief managed.

Roleplay Sample:
Miria stood in the Ravenclaw locker room, looking at her team. She was quite fond of them. They worked well together, and each had strengths that could cover the weaknesses of another.

"Today we are up against Gryffindor," she said, beginning her customary directions to her team. Her face was serious. The Gryffindor team was good. "That means Tidus." The blonde wasn't too worried about him. He was a star, surely, but he also made far too many unnecessary movements. She addressed her Chasers. "He's flashy. While he's making his big moves, we can dart in and grab the Quaffle." Her eyes fell on her Keeper. "Katara, as long as you don't let Tidus' fancy broomwork trick you, the Quaffle won't get past you." Their Keeper was young, but she was good. And she'd probably just keep getting better as the year went on. She looked to her Beaters next. "Try to stay on top of Naruto, you distract him," she said to Sakura. "And you," she said to the other, "just keep the Bludgers away from Galatea. Try to hit their Chasers if you can."

She paced up and down, pre-game energy flowing through her. "We want to be quick and efficient. We're here to win, not look pretty." She held up a pre-emptive hand at Galatea's forthcoming protest. "You can look as pretty as you want, as long as you catch the Snitch," she said to her Seeker. Galatea was a brilliant player, but was sometimes more concerned with the safety of her hair than she was with the position of the tiny golden ball.

Done with her instructions, Miria held her broomstick out for the Ravenclaw team's customary salute. "We'll win!" she called out, voice clear and strong. "We're Ravenclaw!"
