I think, at the moment, I'm all written out. Anyone who follows my real person fandom blog scandalbaby knows I've been on a Sherlock/Doctor Who writing kick, churning out 40K in a little less than two weeks. Tell me about the fanfiction part. You're right, unless you write the popular pairings (read: IchiRuki, ByaRen and UlquiHime, to name the big three) fandom pays no attention to you. Since I my OTP is not only het, but "unpopular" as well, it seems I have to work three times as hard for half the recognition. I'm so glad I have people on my f-list like you who genuinely pay attention to what I write <3

Exactly But I've even noticed I get less feedback for my IchiHime fic, and that's one of the major pairings. It's almost like unless you're part of some sort of clique you have to scramble for all the fans you can.

Which reminds me, now that I have time, to go read more of your and laerkstrein's stuff. I am so glad to be off the meds that turned me into a lump on the log. Any I haven't commented on you think I should read first of yours?

Yeah, it seems that way, doesn't it? Though I wouldn't trade any of my f-list for anything, it would be nice to have more than the same three people commenting on my stuff. It seems I have to advertise myself constantly to get even one or two different people commenting, and I rarely see them more than once or twice. And yet I see other fics getting consistently more reviews.

I actually haven't published any new Bleach stuff. My Bleach muse is gone. I don't know what it is, but I just can't write Bleach at the moment. Not even stuff for my OTP :<

Though I did want to ask you something: Mind if I write a oneshot taking place before "Threats and Declarations"? I wanted to write about the part where Yoruichi tells Urahara she's pregnant with Byakuya's child. It sounded too sweet to pass up.

It's a sad state of affairs in the fandom, that people are too busy to support the people that make the fandom fun, or too caught up in their OTPs to notice the fandom at large. ::shakes head::

OMG YES, PLEASE DO!!! I hadn't even thought about writing that fic, so by all means, have at it.

OMG, I just used the clique idea in the comment above! It really does seem that way, doesn't it? I'm on bleachness and I watch the fandom there and its just so cliquey I want to scream, but if I leave I don't get all the insider info on Bleach. While the owner is a multi-ship shipper, most of the people there are really pro-IchiRuki to the exclusion of everything else. I'm kind of scared to even mention the fact I'm an IchiHime and Ichgo/Tatsuki shipper around them. But there's also a lot of really nice people there, so that's why I stay ( ... )

Well, DW is nicer. Supernatural is usually just bats--- crazy, but the Wincest shippers know to leave SPN het communities alone, so we've carved out safe places for ourselves. My goal with the Wholock community I created is to make it as non-cliquish as possible. You don't have to like every ship the fandom could possibly have, but you have to be nice about it.
