Dear Yuletide Author 2010
First of all, as always, I am terribly grateful for what you're doing. I mean, chances are I don't even know you, but the fact that you're willing to give this gift to me is already great, and I appreciate all the effort you put into the story. As long as you write for any of my requested fandoms and feature my requested characters, I would be a happy camper and be eternally grateful to you for making my Christmas just that little bit more wonderful.
In general, I like seeing my couples happy. I'm not against angst as long as they get a happy ending at the end of the day. I would prefer no character deaths unless absolutely necessary (especially not one of the people in the pairings), no slash or porn. I'm more of an emotional kind of girl, so I like reading more about feelings rather than the physical action (that is not to say they can't sleep together in the story of course, but I don't need too much details in those scenes). Kissing is lovely and encouraged. :D However, if you do not ship my pairings and for some reason don't feel comfortable writing them as couples, then obviously friendship is always okay!
Oh, and while I only requested the pairings, feel free to include other characters to interact with too, I definitely would love to see them.
Request Fandom #1: Legend of the Seeker
Characters: Cara Mason, Leo Dane, Kahlan Amnell, Richard Cypher
Details: Cara/Leo is preferred, and feel free to go AU. I just want to see them be happy together, whatever the circumstances. Alternatively, if you don't like writing about them at all, some good old Richard/Kahlan future fic would also be good. Maybe what happens after the season 2 finale?
It's unlikely that you'll be able to write about Cara/Leo and keep it canon, given how little time they had together, even in "Unbroken". So AU seems like the way to go, and I'm totally fine if you decide to go crazy and make them have very different roles than the ones we know of in both alternate universes presented by the show. I prefer Mord'Sith!Cara though. I think her and Seeker!Leo are most attractive together, so maybe an AU in which they have those roles would be awesome. The rest is up to you, of course. And if you choose to write about Richard/Kahlan instead, I trust you with all the details. A future fic would be preferable though, but I'm also open to an AU in which you veered from one point in canon or something like that. I'm easy to please when it comes to this pairing.
Request Fandom #2: Hunger Games trilogy - Suzanne Collins
Characters: Gale Hawthorne, Katniss Everdeen
Details: Please, no Peeta! That is all. Mentions of him is fine, but I would very much like to see Katniss and Gale together. What they could have been had everything did not happen the way they did.
I'm an avid Katniss/Gale shipper and have been from the start. I do not like the way Gale has been portrayed in such a bad way in order for Katniss not to choose him. And I also do not like how he just gave up on her in the end because he figured she'd never forgive him for what happened to Prim. An AU that veers off canon would be fine, like maybe in the end Katniss chooses Gale after all when he stays (because let's face it, she settled with Peeta just because Gale left). Or a total AU like how things could have been had Katniss not been reaped, or even if the games don't exist at all work as well. I just want them to be awesome together because I know they could've been without all the pressure.
Request Fandom #3: Eoin Colfer - Artemis Fowl series
Characters: Artemis Fowl II, Minerva Paradizo, Holly Short
Details: In which the unlikely couple of human and fairy realizes they're in love with each other. If possible set after the kiss in The Time Paradox. Other character's appearances are awesome of course, especially if you manage to sneak Minerva in somewhere (possibly to add to the love triangle?). No spoilers for The Atlantis Complex please.
That drunken kiss in The Time Paradox made me flail with joy, and I would just love to see the follow-up to it more than just some awkward moments. These two are so different and not just because they're human and fairy, so I think it would be really interesting to see them in a romantic setting. Especially because it would be awesome to see the great Artemis Fowl in love, showing his softer side. Minerva can be thrown in to complicate things, because I've always thought they're kind of match made in heaven? Both child prodigies, both having goddess names as their names (seriously how awesome is that?). Except I kind of ship Holly/Artemis more. But yeah, feel free to go wild with this!
Request Fandom #4: Gallagher Girl series - Ally Carter
Characters: Cameron Morgan, Joshua Abrams
Details: I don't much care what the storyline is as long as Cammie gets back together with Josh and stays that way. Would be more fun of course if she ends up telling him who she really is.
I never liked Zach, and I think there's something really sweet about Cammie falling for a total outsider who's so separate from her world like Josh. And I find it unfair that she had to let him go just because she couldn't tell him the truth about who she was. He was, after all, the only person who ever noticed her. So I want these two to get back together somehow, and bonus points if she tells him who she really is. Other than that, I trust everything else in your capable hands!
That's it, and I hope I'm not being way too complicated or demanding for you. Those details are, of course, optional. So if you're absolutely stuck, and you're flailing in panic as the deadline approaches, I would totally understand if you ignore all this completely and just go with something else entirely. You're already doing me a huge favor by writing a story at all, so whatever happens, thank you! ♥
