You shouldn't have to make that kind of promise. But I know what you mean about not wanting to bring people down. Feel better though!!!

Don't worry about it. You can't change it. It doesnt matter and an english university will not care, just don't tell them you ever took a drawing module. They won't know how many classes you were supposed to have anyway, and if we fail courses we are told just to leave them off the UCAS form.
