sounds familiar.....I started working in my department at university, and our lab was doing mostly physical chemistry experiments basically dealing with machines, and melting and remelting proteins and dna. and I was eager to start working in other 'more serious' labs. but when I saw once in elevator going up from the basement a bloody plastic bag on a tray......my decision to continue with it all was completely reversed and after realizing how much of animal testing was involved in those studies, I completely switched to other non-life-science subjects. I wish I'd done my homework about the animal testing previously too...but the bottom line is that it's done in virtually every science lab all over the world.

after seeing that i probably would have made the same decision you did! all i can say is that i'm pleased to have personally stayed as far away from it all as i can do, and i will continue to stay away in the future!
