Summary: Kyungsoo is NOT a vampire. Really.

Jongin was playing Pokémon Red on his Gameboy Color-because he preferred sticking to the classics-when he heard the apartment door burst open. Kyungsoo swept into the room in a hurricane-like fury and slammed grocery bags down onto the kitchen counter.

Usually, Kyungsoo was pretty patient, but he had what Jongin coined balloon syndrome: Kyungsoo would allow his stress to accumulate, slowly filling him up and expanding and expanding until he popped. Like a balloon.

After a few seconds of glaring at the smashed groceries, Kyungsoo knitted his brows together, gnawed on his bottom lip, and then explained, “I was in the elevator with the two girls who live on the floor below us.”

Jongin was in the middle of an intense Pokémon battle, and he couldn’t afford to tear his eyes away from his game. He was only half-listening when he said belatedly, “And?”

“They kept whispering to each other that there was a vampire in Apartment 702,” Kyungsoo said, his voice laced with agitation.

“Hey, that’s our apartment,” Jongin observed, still engrossed in his game.

Shit. His Charizard just fainted. Now he didn’t have a fire-type Pokémon anymore, which was super effective against grass-types.

“I can’t believe those girls thought I was a vampire,” Kyungsoo kept whining, “Just because I’m pale-“

“Well, you are pale,” Jongin interrupted.

“That doesn’t make me a vampire!”

Man, this battle was getting intense. He only had two more hyper potions and one more max revive. If he wanted to win this battle, he would have to ration his items carefully.

“They also said I smelled like blood,” Kyungsoo continued, desperate for Jongin to see things from his point of view.

“No offense,” Jongin said as he switched out his Dragonite for his Gyarados, “but sometimes you do smell like blood.”

After his opponent’s attack missed, Jongin finally had the upper hand. All he had to do was order his Gyarados to use Hyper Beam, and then-

“Jongin!”

Kyungsoo looked at his boyfriend with his wide eyes glistening, as if he were about to shed tears. Damnit. For once, Jongin decided to be a good boyfriend and turn off his Gameboy Color. Without saving the game. If that didn’t prove how much he loved Kyungsoo, then nothing would.

“You’re not a vampire, so I don’t know why you’re making such a big deal out of this,” Jongin said in a soothing voice as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend and kissed the top of his head.

Kyungsoo’s anger instantly deflated in his embrace, his body fitting into Jongin’s. Yes, Kyungsoo knew he was making a big deal out of this, but work was shitty today and he forgot to bring his coupons to the grocery store and the whole vampire thing made him sensitive.

With his face buried in Jongin’s chest, he whimpered one last time, “I’m not a vampire.”

“I know you’re not,” Jongin murmured in Kyungsoo’s ear.

He kept traveling south and pressed his nose against Kyungsoo’s neck, inhaling deeply.

“And even if you do sometimes smell like blood,” Jongin said, his lips brushing against Kyungsoo’s jugular, “I like it.”

He sank his fangs into the sweet flesh, Kyungsoo’s moans music to his ears.
