When I stop to dwell on it, I freak myself out.  I'm planning on leaving the town/area I've lived in all my life, sell/give away/trash most of my belongings, and move literally across country to a state I've visited once, where I know only 1 person, and go to school for the first time in about 8yrs, and have to live with a stranger.  All the while

I'm sorry. I certainly don't mean it like that. I have no doubt you will make it. And I truly understand the value of changing everything and starting over. You're doing it for all the right reasons, so you'll be okay. Just don't dwell on it make yourself crazy in the process. And I'll let you in on a little secret. Growing up in the military I learned one thing that stands out more than anything else. Distance doesn't matter when it comes to being friends.
