Legion: Music Drabbles

Jun 26, 2011 12:53

it's a challenge! Put iTunes/youtube/MP3 whatever on shuffle. Write a drabble per song, and you only have the length of that song in which to write the drabble! It's so much fun and great practice. I'm splitting my drabbles up by ship.. Songs and ficlets under the cut.

Everywhere I go- Lissie
Charlie/Michael
One thing was for sure now, even in the time that Charlie was realizing she knew nothing or pretty damn close to it.
Everywhere she went was marked. She knew it, Jeep knew it, even the babe in her arms knew it. Danger followed her. Wherever she went, death soon followed.

Jeep didn't choose to leave. She took the choice from him, rising early one morning, extracting herself from his grasp and planted a teary kiss on his forehead before grabbing the babe and walking off into the night with tears streaming down her face.

"It's just you and me know," she said to the babe with the bright blue eyes, and he giggled and cooed at her.

They walked for weeks, living off the food of abandoned houses, before they were attacked. Charlie hid the baby, shoved him under a rock, and fought back as hard as she could. They beat her and she fell onto her knees, pleading, not of the men, but pleading all the same.

There was a flash of light and Michael stood in front of her, his glory restored, his wings outstretched, protecting her.

She and the babe were never alone again.

In The Arms Of An Angel- Sarah McClachlan
Audrey/Gabriel
She hated him. Oh, how she hated him. She hated him with all the ferocity of a terrified child. And she was a terrified child with nothing to lose.
He'd saved her, wrapped his wings around her and held her in the protective circle of his arms as they skidded and bounced and she hated him for that. She hated that she walked away with nothing but scratches and bruises and sprains and a nasty cut on her forehead, all cause some jerk thought she'd make a good pet.

He'd come back for her, too, scooped her up when she was unconscious and flew the two of them to a nearby farmhouse, like an eagle with a mouse he wanted to play with.

He'd been gentle. And slowly, she lost the energy to hate. He was kind, as much as he could be.

Hate turned to love, and nothing pissed Audrey off more than being in love and being helpless. tHERE WAS A STRANGE VULNERABILITY TO him, despite his strength and his size. sHE LOVED THAT VULNERABILITY. She loved him.

Her angel Gabriel. In spite of all the damage he'd done (all the damage she'd done) she loved him.

Hallelujah
Charlie/Jeep
Jeep had never been in love, not really. Charlie thought she had, a few times, but she wasn't prepared either.

It swept them both away, the breathless innocence and purity of it amidst all of the ruin and the destruction. He loved her unconditionally, with a simplicity that, to her, was as beautiful as anything could be. And Charlie loved him too. It had taken the end of the world ti make her see it, but, Lord have mercy (and He did, now) she loved that boy. All the love she'd ever known before had been a fire, something dark and twisted by passion and lust. She wanted Jeep, true, but that was just a side affect of the way her soul cried out for his.

Charlie had only ever known love that hurt.

Jeep's love healed. Some days, she felt it could heal the world.

I Know My Love- Danny Carnahan
Audrey/Kyle
If Audrey had been fighting for her life, she would have failed. But she wasn't fighting for her life, she was fighting for Kyle's. Kyle, the man with the understanding words and the sad eyes, who really seemed to just get it.

She saw the little boy in kyle's arms pull back and she knew, immediately, that something was very, very wrong.

"KYLE!" she shouted, and he turned his head just as the boy went for his neck. Audrey fired two shots and the boy's head jerked back. Kyle gave a shout and dropped him and the hordes shrieked, moving in on them. Audrey didn't stop to think. She jumped off the roof and began shooting, each bullet hitting its mark.

"C'mon!" she shouted to kyle, dragging his hand and pulling him back to the building as the mass of the possessed closed in around them.

They made it inside the building and Michael slammed the door behind them. Kyle and Audrey looked at each other.

Months later, they were on the road, having heard that there were places up in Washington that had been untouched. They looked at each other, and then they grinned.

Losing Touch- the Killers
Michael/Audrey
The feathered bastard came back for her. She lay on the ground, gasping and breathing, and suddenly he was there, a hand over her heart as he looked down at her, something very much like sorrow in those unreadable eyes.

"Live, Audrey Anderson," he whispered, and she felt light flow from his hand into her body. "Live."

Her eyes closed and she slept.
-
She didn't see the archangel Michael for two more months. She was working in a post apocalyptic bar (The Angel's Mission, she'd named it). Even after the end of the world, people wanted booze.

So Audrey Anderson gave it to them. One night there was a man at her bar, during a costume party. His wings fit right in, but she knew better.

"Hello, Michael," she said with an ironic little smile, leaning across the table. His lips twitched at her.

"Hello, Audrey. You look well."
"Guess I've got you to thank for that."
"No, i merely helped you crawl to your feet. You are the one who learned to walk."
She looked at him for a hard moment and then said, "You doin' anything tonight?"
