Coming Attractions?

Hello livejournal! I'm here cause I'm working on a few fanmixes, and it might take a while for me to actually get the posted, but I'd figure I'd get the ideas out there.

2010-2011 Year- Backyard Tragedy

Featuring songs such as: Under the Folding Branches (The Veils), Set the Fire to the Third Bar (Snow Patrol), 10,000 Miles (Mary Chapin Carpenter), Seventeen Forever (Metro Station).
This mix is about the last year for me, which was one of those "tragedy after tragedy, life changing, heartwrenching, I-spent-half-the-year-numb" type of situations. Wasn't pretty. These are all songs that i listened to endlessly, that applied to the situations I found myself in in hilarious/creepy ways. It's also about admitting mistakes, realizing that everyone, even the heroes, are only human, that everyone deserves forgiveness and someone to stand by them (even from afar), about admitting you're not strong enough to get through this on your own, and, finally, about healing. About getting your life back and going from trainwreck to numb to functioning to okay to a little more okay to laughing every now and then to happy occasionally to alive again. The message: life sure sucks, but it'll get better.

BE HAPPY

Featuring songs such as: Smile (Uncle Kracker), Mon Essiential (Emmanuel Moire), The Medallion Calls (Klaus Bedlat), Oh Sherry (Steve Perry)
The title pretty much says it all for this one. The songs aren't necessarily ABOUT happiness (though they aren't about anything else), but, for me, they're songs that put a big grin on my face and i find myself head bobbing like a very excited pigeon. They're the songs i listen to when I need a pick me up, when I'm working out, when I'm in the car with the windows rolled down, the songs that are kind of about nothing and kind of about everything that make you sing along at the top of your lungs even when the words aren't in your language and even when there are no words.

London: This Night, This Town

Featuring songs such as: This Town (OAR), Gates of the Country (Black Lab), Can't Take it In (Imogen Heap), London (Vanessa Carlton).
London, England, is my favorite place in the world. I'm an American and I've been three times, and there is something about that city that brings me to life and sets me free.

So, that's what will hopefully be coming soon!
Till then,
AG
