Aww. *hugs* Sorry for the downer RL (I empathize, believe me). As for art college, I'd say go for the ones offering a scholarship. I'd kill to go to Edinburgh (I'm assuming it's Edinburgh, Scotland?), but at the moment, it's best to take advantage of whatever financial perks you can get.
Two people in my class transferred to Pratt last year, they seem to like it. IDK! I would say, do not pick based just on college, pick also based on the surrounding areas.
I'm sorry to hear that you're generally down :/ I hope things perk up more soon. Good luck with these events.
As to the colleges, I hear that RISD is really hard to get into, so well done :D! Beyond that, I know nothing useful of any of them except for Edinburgh (yay!). I'm very soon going to make a post about Edinburgh as a city (complete with pictures), so I could give you a link to that post when I make it - it might give you a general idea as to the atmosphere of the place. If you want any specific information about the college, it's about five or ten minutes from my flat, so I could get it for you quite easily. I've only been there once, but I liked it. It's not wildly inspiring from the outside, but the inside is light and spacious, and the people were friendly and helpful. The general feeling was one of relaxation - I felt at ease walking around there. My friend is doing jewellery and performance costume design there just now, and loves it madly - the people, the teachers, the place.
Thanks a lot for the offer! I visited Edinburgh myself for the first time this summer and although it was brutally cold it is a very beautiful city indeed. I also got the impression that ECA was quite relaxed and all the people were extremely friendly. I dunno though, there's just so much to consider that it's driving me mad...
Ahh, I'm really glad to hear that you've seen it :) It is indeed quite cold (and so very windy! ♥), but it is at least drier than the west coast, if that is any consolation in that aspect. I'm happy that you agree that it's beautiful too :)
