They all thought they didn’t know Hankyung… In fact, they knew him even more than they would have thought.
He wasn’t quite as complicated at all, his mind was pretty simple and he wasn’t much of a thinker.
Actually, he thought to himself, it would have been nice if some of their fans overestimated his abilities, and to his mere surprise, they did.
Donghae wasn’t one of their fans, he wasn’t one of his close friends either, but he always surprised Hankyung when he, all of a sudden, attacked him and started a conversation.
“Hyung…”, the younger one would say, “Hyung, are all the people in China as pretty as you?”
It was probably Hankyung’s always changing reaction (from incomprehension over embarrassment to amusement), or probably Donghae’s interest in different cultures (the boy asked lots of questions about everything…) or maybe it was just for fun…
It made Hankyung happy anyways, it was a compliment after all and the feeling of Donghae cuddling up against his chest or back, hugging him, was nice and warm and made him feel comfortable all the time.
Normally he didn’t answer and either Shiwon or Heechul would answer for him, tell his Dongsaeng that it was impolite to ask such a question, or just explain that Hankyung was special and there would be no one in China who could try to compete with their own “Chinese guy”…
But sometimes Hankyung would tilt his head, smile and just touch Donghae’s cheek. His voice would be low and his eyes would lock with the younger one’s.
“Well… Are all the people in Korea as interesting as you are?”, he would ask to his friend’s amusement who would always start laughing and take his hand.
“Of course not… So… Now I know… Thank you, Hyung…”
But Donghae’s laugh wasn’t happy, it was pressed and unsure.

One night after such a conversation Hankyung wasn’t able to sleep.
Dongshae’s face made him think a lot lately, think and worry.
He felt like his Dongsaeng was avoiding him and it was obvious that there was something the younger one was thinking about.
Hankyung observed his ceiling for more than two hours and was about to turn around, just to fall asleep again, when his door swung open silently and somebody sneaked inside.
The Chinese man remained motionless when his blanket was pulled up and a warm body cuddled up against his own.
“Are you asleep?”, he heard Donghae’s voice whisper and the warm hands already started to wander over his stomach.
He nodded in silence and ran his hands through the soft hair.
“Good… very good…”
Donghae closed his eyes, just to open them again a little later.
“Can we… like… talk? Just a little bit… I mean… just if you feel like it..”
Hankyung stroked his hair and gave a little humming sound, meaning yes, as an answer.
“So… do you only think of me as interesting?”, Donghae blurted out, without thinking first.
There was a long moment of awkward silence until the younger one started to pull away from his Hyung.
This wasn’t how he had imagined it, the question suddenly seemed very intimate and he wasn’t supposed to ask it right now.
“Ah… I mean…”
But this time he didn’t get the chance to explain himself, when Hankyung pulled him close and whispered some weird Chinese words into his ear.
Both of them were upset and tried to comfort each other, which worked out quite well and somewhere between all those tight hugs and senseless mumbling was a kiss... Just a little one… But it was meaningful in any way.
Donghae was surprised, and a little shocked. He pulled away again, watching the older one’s actions carefully.
But Hankyung was smiling at him, putting one warm hand on his cheek and leaning in for a second kiss.
They didn’t need any more words; it was obvious for both of them.
From all the people in China and Korea, they were the ones that belonged together.

It was amazingly hard to put it online...
But oh well... here it is... and I'm already working on the third one... uhuuuuu...
The title just means 39 in German.. Because neither me, nor my girlfriend had any ideas...
