Hankyung smiled at him chummily as Kim Kibum entered their gloomy kitchen.
It was way past midnight and all members of Super Junior were deep asleep in their beds - well except for the two of them.
Without a word Kibum settled down on a chair, just to rest his head on his arms that he folded on the table in front of him.
His eyes closed he listened to the young man who was sitting on the other side of it, his quiet breathing and the gentle rustling of his clothes everytime he moved were a welcomed lullaby.
Two, three times Hankyung tried to start a conversation, clearing his throat or forming a word with his lips that wouldn't come out.
Maybe he didn't know how to pronounce it or maybe there was nothing to say, but eventually Kibum felt sorry for him and turned his head just to meet Hankyungs eyes with his own.
"I feel miserable...", he said under his breath and sat up again.
It didn't mean anything but conversation, just reaching out for human feelings, for something at least...
But his hyung nodded and his smile disappeared for the tenth of second and gave up its spot for a worried expression.
It was weird, Kibum thought, how he ended up trusting this guy who was so different from himself and yet they were so alike.
Kim Kibum didn't smile, he just didn't like to.
Why should he try to be happy when he really wasn't.
He already had to do that when he was acting.
Hankyung was always smiling, it looked like he couldn't do anything else.
In some situations Kibum felt Hankyung smiled because he was lost
Because everything went over his head...
Because he didn't understand what was going on and so he just smiled to show his friends he was okay.
Finally Kibum broke the eye contact and looked at the floor, his own thinking baffled him.
The meeting in the kitchen was the first time they were alone, really alone, without anybody bursting in at some pont.
Clearing his throat once again Hankyung got up, walked around the table and stopped only when he stood right behind his dongsaeng to put one hand on his shoulder.
"You are nice.", he said and started massaging the boys shoulders, "Don't be miserable."
Hankyung sometimes wasn't able to state his opinion or share his thoughts, because he couldn't find the words.
Kibum for his part had the same problem for other reasons, he didn't want to show his feelings, he had been trained not to do so.
The younger one closed his eyes, maybe that was why he felt so good around his hyung.
"I can tell you are worried. Please relax, Kibum.", a voice near his ear whispered.
The others tended to make fun of Hankyung's accent or Kibum's more or less non-existent emotions, but those two would never hurt each other with words.
"I can tell how you feel..."
They knew each other.
Kibum turned around to face the slender man next to him.
Hankyung smiled and leaned forward, placing a kiss on his forehead.
They accepted each other the way they were... and it was perfect this way.
