Apparently, there are parts of this country where people refer to UPS (as in the delivery service) as "ups".

That's right, ladies and gentleman, as in rhyming with "cups".

WTF. Genuinely. baffled.

Where I come from (or rather where I used to work) everyone pronounced it with a long 'u', as in 'oops'. For very good reason!
