Seriously! CA wants to tax dairymen for cow farts! I might be okay with this IF the CA Air Resources Board permitted the methane digesters dairymen are trying to install. Yep, they won't permit something that removes cow farts because the engine that runs it puts out too much NOx!!! Farking idiot regulator crapheads!!! (Links to come soon)

My understanding is that NOx is some pretty bad stuff, possibly worse than the methane, but I agree that if farmers are attempting to minimize the methane they shouldn't be penalized for it. However the issue comes in if they're feeding or care practices could be adjusted more to minimize cow gas (which is really more burping then farting), and they are not choosing to adjust.

Good point regarding feeding... but they're being asked to change their rations for a large number of goals including milk output, waste characteristics (including gas), ration source, stomach "environment" (the bugs that can and can't exist there), etc. It's a hard thing to balance...
