Odd Question

I'm generally not the kind of person who cares about designer labels. But when it comes to hair products, I'm a picky bitch, and I can only buy them from a salon. I usually get them from a salon right near my house, and when I use my debit card, I end up signing a receipt with a line for the tip. Am I supposed to leave a tip if I'm just buying ( Read more... )

No. The tip line is only there if you're getting your hair did, not if you're there buying normal retail shizz.

That'd be a default setting on the debit card processing thinger, surely. If you were getting a cut or whatnot and only had plastic on you, you'd be glad to have that tip line there. But this doesn't work like to-go food. No tip needed if you're only using them as a store. (Who would it even go to if nobody provided a service?)

When in such situations, I always just draw a line through the tip part and just write the total.

Not only should you not leave a tip, but you may even be giving the person who rang you up a lay-down commision or spiff on the product they sold you.
