HATERZ UNITE!

I don't know what it is, but participating in daily life is making me so sick lately. All it takes is a trip to the local shopping mall and I get so depressed. I remember my best friend in high school always bitching about "teeny boppers and their stupid trends" and, while I sympathised at the time, I always felt her almost bitter tone was a bit ( Read more... )

our love is here to stay foxbase February 7 2004, 08:42:34 UTC
(g. gershwin/i. gershwin)

It’s very clear
Our love is here to stay
Not for a year
But ever and a day

The radio
And the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies
And in time may go

But oh my dear
Our love is here to stay
Together we’re
Going a long, long way

In time the rockies may crumble
Gibraltar may tumble
They’re only made of clay but
Our love is here to stay

The radio
And the telephone
And the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies
And in time may go

But oh my dear
Our love is here to stay
Together we’re
Going a long, long way

In time the rockies may crumble
Gibraltar may tumble
They’re only made of clay but
Our love is here to
Our love is here to
Our love is here to stay

i hate that feeling. jamiekincheloe February 7 2004, 21:25:25 UTC
what i do to cope with the feeling is take more drugs. whether legal or illegal it doesnt really matter, the only difference is if the money is going to some major corporation who's gonna use the profits to destroy all the farmland in countries like columbia, to snuff out the competition, or if its gonna go to columbia who supports terrorist who want to attack large corporations that have the deforestation campaigns. (speaking of short attention spans, that was completely off topic.)
i think i'll go ahead and defend myself, in case the majority of the people on your friends list don't have reputable enough character for my taste, i dont have a problem with me doing drugs. if you do have a problem with me doing drugs then isnt the person with a problem pertaining to drugs you?
... anyway, back to the point, if you find that my solution is too extreme for your taste, i hear that living in a war zone for a while is a really good cure for what ails you.

I have no problem with doing drugs JK. I'd probably be a lot f**king saner if I could only get myself a reliable dealer. Aside from that, yes it's probably going to take a war zone to combat my poor spoilt-westerner mentality.

Congratulations on realising that being self-indulgent and materialistic is a luxury and privelege our generation has been handed on a sliver platter...don't listen to those angsty, postmodern university hippy freeeks who are all into 'saving the planet' and crap like that! Go out and buy that J-Lo top right now! It will be the best decision you ever make!!

I didn't know there were any of those planet-saving university freaks left...I thought they were all wiped out in the last wave of post-modernism.

I'M SEEING THE MOVIE DAMMIT. Btw: I think "mike" suits you better than "flo". Show some consistency at least.

I disagree. I believe that every past generation was just as soulless and self-absorbed as the current one. History tends to focus on other things than a generation's "soul." We are all the same, but we have a mass media that can transmit and record all of our soullessness in exact detail.

On good days I take that nice, logical perspective. On bad days I prefer to align myself with the doomsday crowd.
