Dear 50 year old facebook friends,

Please know, when you update your relationship status from "single to in a relationship" I'm laughing at you.
And don't even get me started on how insecure anyone over the age of 22 using "foursquare" must be.

How did people, who need SO much external validation, survive before the internet?

Much love,
me

Seriously. When I first joined fb I put in a relationship status but then I thought, I just don't want to broadcast changes in my relationship status like that! So I removed it (almost with basically all information, because facebook, ick).

God, this. Especially since they started making so much of what you write on their there (AHEM) accessible to everyone. It's creepy.

Yeah, my activity on fb involves blocking apps, occasionally commenting/replying to my friends, and very rarely posting a link or video. Because yeah, so creepy.

Wow. I'm thinking that a whole book could probably be written on this subject. The human condition + technology + middle age paradigm.
