So I don't get to hang out with Native Americans very often, but I usually have a good time when I have the chance.  One of my wife's best friends is very active in the Native community, and occaisonally we get to go to a Pow-Wow or rally or other gathering, eat delicious fry-bread, dance, all that good stuff ( Read more... )

Compliments or flattering observations are all the more awesome when they meet at least one of three criteria:

1) If they're from a different culture, therefore they're not something that you've seen overused.
2) They're colorful.
3) And if they're delivered matter-of-factly.

This incident seems like you got all three.

Still, it could've been MORE awesome.

You could've gone out to pee and gotten caught by someone who glanced down, gave you a nod of acknowledgement, said, "Mighty Horse" and walked away.
