Fallen angel on the ground [lift me up and kick me down]

"DiNozzo. Morasca. Go talk to the neighbors, see what they can tell you about Lieutenant Parker."

Nodding, Anna packed up her things, pausing when her partner hesitated. His date..."It's dinner time, Boss... maybe now's not the best time to bug the neighbors..." All Gibbs had to do was stare and DiNozzo rushed off to meet her at the elevator with ( Read more... )

Tony drove in silence towards his destination. He knew in his heart that he was making a mistake, but his head was telling him another story. Like he usually does, he listened to his head instead. Afterall, this girl he was meeting up with was amazing, he thought.

Feeling slightly guilty, Tony reached for his cell phone and dialed Special Agent Morasca's number, partially to check up on her and partially to tease her, waiting patiently as it rang.

Hearing her cellphone go off, Anna flipped it open, expecting to hear McGee or Gibbs. "Morasca."

"Agent Morasca," he answered cheerfully, "Special Agent DiNozzo. How's that canvassing coming along?"

Tony was sincerely worried. Any time he's ever pulled such a stunt, it's always had a bad ending, and his conscience was eating at him. He simply played it off as if he was calling to tease her though. "Having fun without me?"

Rolling her eyes with a smile, she shook her head. "Oh, I have learned absolutely nothing. And for me that is saying something. I am having so much fun I can barely contain myself." She drawled.

He scanned the area for her car, but didn't see it. He tried calling her cell phone, but there was no answer. He didn't even want to consider the fact that she might not be coming. He wasn't McGee afterall. "It's early yet," he said aloud, "she'll be here."

Tony had a funny feeling in the pit of his stomach. He needed to go back, but this was his first date after the terrible split with Jeanne, and he felt that he needed this, too. Having no other option while he waited, he decided to bug Anna again.

He let the phone ring... and ring... and ring... until her voicemail picked up. Tony left a message, then called back, repeating the process. Something wasn't right.

Hearing her phone go off repeatedly, she got to her feet and delivered a spinning roundhouse kick to her attacker's head, knocking him to the ground. Before he could get to his feet, Anna pressed her heel down against his back while she got her cuffs out.

"You are under arrest for assaulting a federal agent." She growled and hauled the guy to his feet, taking him to her car and heading back to NCIS.

Gibbs had yelled at her for going alone, McGee and Abby hovered over her worriedly, and Ziva "gently" booked him. Gibbs let her go home for the night and called DiNozzo to explain Anna had been attacked and sent home, and to yell at him for letting her go alone. However, Anna was at her apartment massaging the bruises and cut marks on her neck.

When his cell phone rang, he quickly answered it, worried. "DiNozzo." It was Gibbs on the other end. He didn't say much, but what he did say was enough to let Tony know that he knew, and there'd be consequences. He hadn't told him about the other agent yet, but demanded that he return to headquarters immediately ( ... )

As the kettle hissed on her stove, she moved into the kitchen to take the water off the heat and poured herself a cup of tea to calm her nerves. She was somewhat rattled by the experience, but more than anything she was worried about Tony.

...And what Gibbs was going to do to him.

"Not sure I can do that, Anna," he sniffled, clearing his throat. "No, Kate would." Tony couldn't help but chuckle as he thought about it. "Kate would definitely want me to suffer. Funny thing, when she thought I was dying, I saw a weakness." He smiled momentarily before thinking too much about her again. "I really miss her."

Tony closed his eyes again as her lips met his forehead, appreciating her gentle caress. "I hurt her bad," he sighed. "In turn, she accused me of murder. After all that, I never stopped loving her." He hated himself for it.

"You?" Tony perked up at her last statement, crazy fantasies playing in his head. "You had a Jeanne? Was she hot? Why didn't I know about this?" That was DiNozzo. Typical DiNozzo.

"I believe you can never stop loving a person. You may fall out of love with them, but you will still love them."

As Tony perked up, she was glad to see he'd relaxed but as soon as she saw the wheels in his head begin to turn she had no choice but to slap him upside the head and back to reality. "His name was Matteo. And nice try, DiNozzo."

Tony nodded in agreement, knowing he was saying everything he had to without saying a word.

He winced as she headslapped him and was disappointed in her response. "That's not even right, Morasca," he frowned, flashing her the saddest of looks. "Just break my heart some more," he teased with a completely serious expression on his face.

Blinking, she shifted to kneel beside him. "I'm sorry, Tony. I was only joking around..."

((OOC: :) ))

Tony glanced up at her, slightly confused. "Yeah?" He studied her, trying to gauge her thoughts. He just hoped he wasn't moving too fast, but he needed her, and she needed to know how much she meant to him.

"A-Are you saying what I think you're saying?" She stammered, her face turning bright red as she ducked her head and fidgeted with his shirt, hands trembling.

Tony nodded slowly. "If that's what you want me to say," he smiled weakly.

"Just so I... understand... what exactly are you saying?" She looked up at him again, and bit her lip. She needed to hear what he was thinking, because she was going to die from a heart attack if she didn't get some clarification soon.

"I feel like..." He swallowed and looked up at her, "like the world has been lifted off of my shoulders. When I'm with you, you make me forget..."

"I feel the same with you, Tony. I have from the very start." She confessed, smiling softly as she ducked her head to steal another very brief, light kiss.

"Mmm-hmm," responded as he gently kissed her back. "I really should've gone home last night," Tony chuckled, a voice in the back of his head reminding him of rule twelve, even though he wasn't paying much attention to it.

Pulling back, confused, Anna frowned. "Why do you say that?"
