A/N: Happy new year! i find it interesting how people tend to take on hyomin's pov when writing sunbyung, so i try to do sunny's pov instead.. and i'm stuck with TMTNS :x

I’m sorry Hyomin.
It’s okay, I understand. We’re still friends, though, right?
Of course.
Promise?
Promise.
The memory of Hyomin’s confession played in Sunny’s mind yet again. It’s been over half a year since it happened. Although the promise was made, they communicate less and less as time passes. She was busy with Japan album and the Asia Tour while Hyomin was busy with preparation for Japan promotion.
Sunny still remembered when the confession was made and she admitted that it didn’t come as a shock for her. She had always known that Hyomin had a certain liking towards her, but she refused to acknowledge it all together.
And now she finds it ironic how she ended up thinking about Hyomin a lot more after she rejected her.

“… yeon.”
“huh? what?”
“My name is Hyoyeon.”
“I know that.. what are you trying to say, doofus?”
“Yah! You little--!!” Hyoyeon didn’t finish her cuss but smacked Sunny’s head anyway.
“you called me ‘Hyomin’ again today… seriously… and we’re going to have pasta tonight. ” Hyoyeon shook her head and made her way to the kitchen when she saw Taeyeon was getting overwhelmed with the dinner.
I’m sorry Hyoyeon.
A sigh escaped from Sunny yet again.

“But you don’t hate her either, don’t you?”
“of course not... it’s just awkward now… you know…”
“Then you should call her… or message her… anything…”
Sunny could tell that Yuri was pretty exasperated over this ordeal and she felt guilt washing all over her.
“Hey, I think this friendship is… you know… worth saving …” Yuri’s voice softened as she grabbed the shorter girl’s shoulder. The reply sounded sincere in Sunny’s ears, so she smiled in return.
“Thank you so much, Yuri…” Sunny replied and proceeded to hug the tan girl.

On July fourth Hyomin put extra effort in T-ara’s Japan showcase after receiving a surprise message from a certain petite girl that said:
“Hyomin, hwaiting! You can do it!! ^^ ~<3”

It took them only a week to start messaging each other again, and Yoona can’t help but smiled along when she noticed the smile on Sunny’s face after checking her phone.

“Your hair is so short now.”
“And you’re back with your genie outfit.”
“Yeah…”
The conversation between them failed miserably when they finally had a chance to talk in person, but both knew that what was said did not matter. They stared at each other, the shorter one was searching, while the other one was reaching out, trying to find out what the other was thinking.
She had been thinking of me.
Sunny broke into a warm smile upon the realization while Hyomin let out a shy smile in return, never breaking the eye-contact.
Their mini reunion got interrupted when one of the staff announced that the dream concert was about to start.

“I didn’t mean anything with that kiss last night! I’m sorry!! I got too excited! I just missed you so bad >.<;; ”
Sunny was mum.

November passed by quickly, but they still manage to exchange greetings and hugs whenever they saw each other in music shows, although both were hurrying to get somewhere else.
Whenever they say their goodbyes, Sunny noticed the sadness in Hyomin’s eyes, and somewhere deep inside, sunny felt relief. It terrifies her.
She was aware that she cannot accept Hyomin, and yet she cannot push her away either.

Sunny fought back the tears that threatened to escape when she saw the pain in Hyomin’s smile on KBS Gayo’s backstage. Sunny knew that they were sharing dressing room, but she didn’t know that a simple ‘hey’ with a lonely expression could make her so emotional.
Sunny finally decided to grab Hyomin’s wrist and made a bee-line to the private toilet inside their dressing room.
After she locked the door, Sunny looked into Hyomin’s eyes and cupped the younger girl’s face.
“Thank you for always thinking of me.”
Before Hyomin could react, Sunny closed the gap between them.
