Jessica smiled at the sight of her bed after the group’s usual five minute talk that turned into two hours of nonsense. Although she’s never the one to pray in the group, she silently thanked the Lord for her weird-ass companions, for Tiffany’s return to their group schedule, and for her cute fan that gave her a new memory card for her phone as she tucked herself into her bed. She smiled again as she shook her head thinking about how her fan is encouraging her habit of taking risqué pictures of her members. She stretched her body one last time on her bed and placed her phone beside her pillow. Her right hand automatically stretched upward as she lay comfortably on her warm bed.
Jessica’s eyes fluttered open and she frowned as she felt a vibration beside her head. She ignored it and tried to sleep again without acknowledging it. The stubborn phone vibrated again, irritation apparent in her gesture as she slammed her hand against her phone, hoping it would stop. Picking up the phone, she pressed randomly on the keyboard, knowing the phone’s light would start functioning. She blinked a few times as the light from the phone blinded her. Her frown grew more evident as she cursed inside her head. Jessica hates it when she’s denied of her sleep, and every sane person in this world know that.

Jessica sighed as she realized that she was being too harsh on the not-fully-recovered girl on the other side of the phone. She tapped the side of her phone with her index finger as she thought to herself. She carefully placed her thumb on her keyboard again and typed on it in a rather cautious manner.
♥ Jessica ♥: 1:33am
You want me to go to your place?
T is for Totoro: 1:33am
It’s fine

Jessica sighed as she put her right hand on her forehead. She assumed that Tiffany might be thinking too much again. She didn’t know what to reply to the girl, but some sort of anger rose up within her. Angry with herself for acting so childish earlier, annoyed towards Tiffany for pushing herself too much and angry to the fact that she spent a considerable amount of time worrying if one day Tiffany will break herself for being so stubbornly hardworking. Last but not least, angry because she worried so much and yet had never actually tell Tiffany that she’s worried about her.
Her phone vibrated again.
T is for Totoro: 1:37am
What are you doing now?
♥ Jessica ♥: 1:37am
Trying to sleep... for Christ sake..
Jessica slapped her forehead, frustrated for she let her annoyance taking over her fingers before her brain manage to stop her body.
T is for Totoro: 1:37am
Why are you so harsh? T.T
In the other bedroom, Tiffany frowned when she realized that she won’t be getting any reply after several long minutes of wait. Her knee hurts and she was bored out of her mind. She tried to sleep, really, but the pain on her leg alerted her system enough to make her stay conscious despite her fatigue from the day’s schedule. She reread her conversation with Jessica in her blackberry just now and thought that she might actually be annoying the tired girl too much. She thought of apologizing to Jessica the first thing in the morning as she tucked her phone under her pillow. Shifted to her right side, Tiffany faced away from her bedroom door.
She heard muffled shuffles in the living room and thought it was probably one of the members going to the bathroom or robbing the refrigerator out of its contents in the middle of the night. A thought crossed her mind as she opened her mouth. The voice never escaped her lips as she closed her mouth again after weighing the consequences and other considerations. The guilt from disrupting Jessica’s sleep still lingered in her head and it would be too much if she was to disrupt another member’s attempt at slumber.
Another thought started to build up in the tranquil bedroom. Aside from her future ambitions, Tiffany reflected on how she spent the last month when the other members were out promoting their album without her. She was upset since her dream as a singer was unfulfilled for that month. For Tiffany, to be on stage was like to be at home. The place where she can be herself, the place where she showed the world how much she’s worth. The fact that she was able to share it with her other eight members made it even better because in that five minutes, she won’t feel as lonely.
She shook her head at that thought. She mentally scolded herself for thinking that she was lonely. No, she knew very well that she wasn’t excluded from the other members. It’s just that she felt the minute they were on stage, they transformed into one. Differences such as height, shoe size, favourite colors, or whatever little things that differentiate them from one another were all gone in that particular moment on stage. It’s her euphoria, her own private heaven. When nothing else matters and they were just nine girls running towards their dream, chasing it like little kids trying to catch a flying butterfly.
Tiffany frowned again at the thought of not being able to bask in her euphoria for an entire month.
“Stupid leg.” She murmured in frustration.
The door to Tiffany’s room swung open which made Tiffany instantly twist her body to see who the intruder might be.
“Give me your sore knee.” The voice was flat and the nonexistent tone hid the motivation behind it.
Tiffany focused her sight to the owner of the voice and figured out that Jessica was standing beside her bed with some sort of... thing on her hand.
Hearing no reply, Jessica carefully put a heat-pack on the latter girl’s sore knee and sat beside her.
Jessica patted Tiffany’s head lightly as she utter a soft “sorry.” The phrase was short and Tiffany almost missed it due to its tiny volume. Tiffany’s lips curved upwards as she enjoyed the extra attention from her sleepy companion.
“So you were the one making a ruckus outside, wasn’t it?” Tiffany mentally slapped her self but she can’t help but tease the girl whenever possible. She didn’t even know when this habit started but it seemed like Jessica didn’t mind.
Jessica smacked Tiffany’s forehead with the palm of her hand right after Tiffany’s accusation and managed to let out a sharp “shut up” from her lips. Jessica proceeded to lie on Tiffany’s bed without the latter girl’s permission as she said “You should try to sleep again now. Wake me up if you need anything. Don’t think too much, ok?”
Before Tiffany managed to reply, she felt a pair of arms snake around her waist and heard a sigh of contentment from the brunette, already in her sleeping mode. Tiffany checked her phone to see the time for the last time and she smiled knowing that Jessica had forgiven her silliness, eased the pain on her knee, and had calmed the raging storm in her heart.
Tiffany kissed the crown of Jessica’s head and whispered “thank you” as she closed her eyes, welcoming the peacefulness and drifted to the unconscious. Tiffany fell asleep as her left hand held unto Jessica’s head, shielding her away from the world.
