Why does a certain sound of a child yelling in the distance, as I am most distanced from my cognitive thinking state, prompt such memories to emerge? I believe it is because the mind that is not ruled by the brain, the non-material consciousness, recognizes a connection between those moments that might not be apparent to our meat selves. This lends itself to my belief that something beyond the material mind plays a role in such experiences.
