You can be independent, you just choose to be dependent. Think about it. You don't NEED anyone. My sister broke free of all dependence of anyone at the age of 19, packed her stuff and moved to LA where no one knew her.

I wish I was as brave and self-supporting as your sister... but unfortunately it really isn't up to me. I don't want to be paying off student loans for the rest of my life and quite frankly, they wouldn't pay for my rent anyway (I'm getting kicked out of my apartment in December because its going condo, but thats another story lol). And I don't make nearly enough money at my job for car payments and insurance and food and everything else. So unless I win the lottery, I don't think I'll be independent for a few years.
