aren't we all, in some sense, "riding a fucked up train"?

Dec 21, 2004 03:02

The other day as I locked up my bike outside the Penn Fine Arts building, I saw another bike EXACTLY LIKE MINE that I have never seen before, all brown and old-looking with the same orange decals. For a moment or two I was filled with anxiety, because I imagined that that bike was my bike's double, and when I walked inside I would see a shadow ( Read more... )

You know you've reached the South when someone boards the train in the middle of the night and hollers, "Woooooooooooooooooooooooo-EEEE!"

okay, it's three a.m. and i absolutely cannot stop laughing about this.
so true, so true.
goddamn, i'm putting it on my signature file. you are so freakin' cool.
last time i went down south, on my way to nola, everyone i talked to from Alabama on down told me I had that "N'awlins Flava." it was awesome!

Man. you totally meet all the fun people.

In regards to rolling up one pant leg, if I'm not mistaken its a gang symbol usually related to the Almightly Latin King and Queen Nation or some such. I have no idea what it means. Of course, this "style" was quickly appropriated by others...

yeah, the thing i don't get about the pant-roll is the fact that it's not JUST indie kids, or punks, or gangstas, or preps who do it... it's a little bit of everyone, but not so many that it seems like a trend that's sweeping the nation. maybe i should start paying attention to WHICH leg they roll up. that may hold significance that i'm just not seeing right now.

I heard that people roll up one pant leg to symbolize that they are either buying or dealing drugs (i can't remember which leg is which). I think its a nig thing.

fabulous.

i don't want to delete your comments since i don't believe in censorship, but how about either explaining why the fuck you feel it's necessary to write "nigger" in my journal [so i can argue with you], or just keeping your racial slurs to yourself?
