I think most of you who read this know about NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) by now. I attempted that once (7 years ago, holy crap) and failed miserably. Well, since I finished my first draft in July, I'm going to spend this month editing so I'll have a second draft to send to my critiquer victims. I'll post little progress logs here ( Read more... )

Hey, I'll never turn down a beta reader :) And you know I'm more than happy to beta for you! I'm a bit of a slow reader though, so I'm not sure when I could get it back to you. Unless I wait till you finish this revision, and then go after it with my Red Pen of Doom?

The Mae novel is about 91k, so the question is, considering Nano, when do you think you could get it back to me? I'd feel bad throwing something like that on top of you in a month where you're working heavily on your own stuff--unless you are a super fast reader or something?

(And if you don't hear from me over the next few days, it's because I'm at Nekocon)

Well, as for the Annie novel, I'm going to finish draft #2 before sending it to anyone. I hope to have it done by the end of November, and I'll send it to people at the end of the year (after the holiday craziness is over and people have time to relax before ripping my baby apart). I'm going to try to give people a reasonable, fairly loose deadline, because I know life likes to get in the way... I'm thinking maybe three or four months? I'll probably take a break for a few months between drafts anyway.

As for yours, I can tackle it any time, but I'd prefer starting in early December. I'm not 100% sure how long it will take, but from calculating my own editing progress, I could have it read/critiqued in two to three weeks. Or I could read the next draft after you've edited it some more... it's up to you.
