My old life is finally sorted out and put to rest. Hurrah. Time to concentrate on where I'm going. I need a holiday. -

A real game of two halves - England dominating the first half and could have been further than one in front (an own-goal from a fantastic free-kick by David Beckham) but the second half was a bit of a damp squib. Unfortunately the PVR didn't record this match very well, so I only saw the first twenty minutes and the second goal which was hardly a good advertisement for Polish football. Neither side looked that good - both lacking a player who could step up and take charge. Still, Ecuador will be happy with their win. I can see them coming second in their ( Read more... ) -
Match 1 : Germany 4 Costa Rica 2
The Germans looked pretty dangerous going forward (although, admittedly, the Costa Rican defence was absent for large patches of the game) but slightly shakey at the back. This might improve if Ballack plays, but it will be a worry for German fans. -
