The game numbers were predicted to suffer for the first year of empire.

You can join Facebook groups but be choosy. I haven't joined anything to do with empire as I'm told its worse than old pagga at times.

Glad the game has kept you wanting to come back for more. It does mean luscious is back on the market so the teasing may restart.

There are two Rome groups and you're in both of them. We dont use the open group as we found out we had spies so we set up a the secret SPQR one. It's a nice group, there tends to be a mix of froth and logistical planning - none of the bitchiness you get on some public fora. Odyssey doesn't have a general open group which I'm relieved about, the Empire one is apparently a bear pit. There is an Odyssey info page.

I think your death was well played. I'm just sorry to have missed it. It's probably lucky I stuck with the Ducks rather than going Salonius little sister/cousin because then my brand new character would probably have suicided two and doing that twice in one event is OTT.

Tribunes - I think any class should be able to stand. I'd love to see a philosopher tribune!

On diplomacy - we did a lot at event 1, and were the first nation to field foreigners in a defence. The scream of rage from Greece when the Ducks marched in flanked by a bunch of Egyptians was a joy to behold :-)

Priest game is great fun, very busy though.

As a warleader I found it frustrating that more champions became tribunes than warleaders because the warleader game is more limited. Plus on top of this people would then tell you off for taking charge when you're stuck in the camp whilst they're gallivanting off on some quest. If I'd been an angrier character I would have got into a lot more scraps about that. I found our more recent tribunes wanted help rather than seeing it as a threat ( ... )

there will be at least one female warleader in Rome next time as Poppaea takes her turn with the Ducks... Our warleader will *never* be tribune again - we changed the group's IC rules and it is now not allowed as you can't properly represent the group if you are representing Rome. :-)

I've switched Laurentia from philosopher to priest, but couldn't make this event (and August not looking good either)

That's a shame, I thought we might be able to form Priest Club.

I was also looking forward to it. Reckoned that the drama of priesthood might suit me better than the logical problem-solving of philosophy (problem solving does suit me, and I'm good at it - which is why I write software and analyse data at work - which is why it's not what I want to do in my free time)

I might miss the arena but I want to give something else a try as I'm not that good at fighting in that way.
